The Sip-n-Dip lounge is nostalgic fun. But the hotel itself leaves a lot ot be deisred. It is really showing its age. - Long narrow hallways, haphazard repairs and a general dinginess all around. - Superficialy friendly staff. - includes a coupon for breakfast that you have to laugh at due to limited choice and portion sized for a toddler - the restaruant area is way too small in any event and it is not worth waiting 40 mins to get a child's plate. - arrived at check-in time to be told that rooms are not ready and come back in a 1/2 hour. Came back in 1 hour and given keys but whent to room to find it had not been cleaned yet. Cleaner told me to go ask for a different room. Then they gave me a room with a double instead of a queen bed. - key cards only worked 1/2 the time and had to go to front desk to get reprogrammed when locked out of room. -bathroom by the lounge has no door on the toilet stall - AKWARD!! - bathroom in room is so small that it is hard to close the door when inside. - very thin walls and so you can hear everything However, the place did have very good parking! Back in the day was likley a nice hotel, but this place has frozen in time both in style, amenities, decor and maintenance. There are many moden hotel all over Great Falls that offer a way nicer experience.
One of the best nights of sleep I've ever had away from home! Stayed one night for a quick business trip and I've never slept so well when not in my own bed!
We just had to experience the world renouned Sip &Dip!??Very fun colorful crowd great music
Great small local business, excellent food, perfect bloody Mary and the food was awesome. Maria was fantastic. I will definitely be back.
An old hotel. Has lots of charm. Rooms are average and comfortable. The restaurant has real good food. The bar upstairs has the mermaid tank behind the bar with one or two mermaids swimming around. It's fun and you can have your picture taken with them. You also get a little rubber ducky to take with you with hopes of everyone sending a picture back on where and how far the duck has traveled..
Clark and Lewies...best Friday night prime rib! Don't miss it!
Very clean and quiet rooms. Even had a rubber ducky in the bathroom so I took a bubble bath too.
Called four times from Glacier National Park, each time hung up on. When I called a fifth time and expressed my frustration and had given my information before a two-hour drive to Great Falls, the reception canceled my reservation because she didn’t appreciate my feedback: which was, don’t hang up on the patron within a few seconds. Please be patient. Her outright cancelation of my reservation—after I asked if she understood where I was coming from with regard to my frustration at being hung up on, and doing so once again—speaks volumes. Travelers take heed.
Always a lovely stay. This place has a vintage charm. If you're looking for a modern hotel then this isn't a place for you. Very vintage but well kept and where else in Montana can you see mermaids?
Everyone should stay here at least once. It's an absolutely fantastic experience. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, many having worked there for decades. Our room was dated, but very well kept and clean, so it added to the charm of the place. Every room comes with a rubber ducky that you can take on your travels and send back pictures of it. The Sip & Dip is a must while you're there from the mermaids to the bubble carpeting. The mermaids swim from 6-10 and you can go behind the bar to pose with them for pictures - remember to tip them! The food was delicious, but just know that the online menu is old. Also, Piano Pat passed away a few months ago and is no longer there to play. Outside there is a tiki bar that is also fun to sit at. Don't go through Great Falls and not stay here.
Go back in time and stay in the 70s! Has modern amenities, except AC. Super pet friendly, and felt safe walking around at night. Get your party on at the mermaid bar located right inside the hotel, but it gets packed around early evening so plan for that.
We were booked to stay two nights after finding this hotel while researching places to see in Montana on our trip. Front desk staff were nice upon arrival. As soon as we went upstairs to the 2nd floor I knew I couldn’t stay at the O’Haire. The smell was so horrible and continued into our room. We went into our room and after 10 minutes left to find another place to stay. The smell was of old musty-ness and fried food. We found another place to stay thankfully and then came back to check out. I told the front desk we were checking out as the smell in our room was making me nauseous. Must happen quite a bit as there was no apology, just took our room cards back and didn’t say a word. Very disappointed with that transaction. We were out the price of 2 nights stay and had to pay for another hotel (Holiday Inn) but it was so worth it, my allergies were flaring up and I wouldn’t have been able to sleep all night. Even the staff at the new hotel told us we weren’t the first to come to them with the same complaints.I can’t understand how they have such positive reviews, except that maybe the food and bar are good and that is all that people are actually reviewing.
I stayed here for the night to check out the mermaids at the Sip n Dip, and had a lovely stay at this gem of an old school motor lodge. We had a queen non smoking room, and it was absolutely immaculate. Could have eaten off the floors. They managed to retain a lot of the 60's charm even with some furniture updates etc. We were enchanted with the original built in ironing board that lit up. Service was super efficient and very friendly - everyone smiled, everyone we encountered seemed like they genuinely wanted you to feel welcome. You just don't run into that so much anymore. The Sip and Dip did not disappoint for me. I've had craftier cocktails, but the ambiance was great and the Mermaids were amazing. We had breakfast (they offer an included option, which wasn't disclosed on the website when we booked direct, so lovely surprise at check in to get breakfast vouchers). Food was fantastic, and great service again.
A bit retro, but nice & clean! Take the rubber duck on an adventure!
Put this on your list to visit. Great food, fun bartenders, and free breakfast. We will be back to see the mermaids!
