Having managed c-stores in the past, I made sure I did the ordering and we never ran out of product during the week. I would make sure extra was ordered during special events and/or other sales events. I went to Wal-Mart on Smelter last Saturday (5-3-25)and purchased 3 1.25 liters of Mt. Dew, the only 3 left in stock. I was there again today (5-6-25) and still no 1.25 liters of Mt. Dew at all. When I pointed that out to an employee, he said the sad thing was Pepsi was there earlier in the day. I told the employee either Pepsi was worthless for not leaving enough product OR the store was worthless for letting Pepsi do the ordering when the store knows their sales better than anyone else. In my opinion, I say Pepsi is worthless because I hear they do all the ordering for the stores. That said, Pepsi cares abut Pepsi, in that once they leave an order they have their money. What the store makes or does not make is apparently no concern of theirs. After all, they made their sales and money.
