Charming Place. The stuffed strudel is fantastic. I had a mocha as well. The service was terrific. The only challenge was there was a crowd and people were clamoring for tables. For a coffee shop that’s a good problem to have. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Will stop in again when I’m in Hamilton.

The staff there were so sweet, some seem like they like the job more than others but all are nice. It is a little confusing that there is more than one menu to look at , but that just means there’s lots of options to choose from! The bakery items here look HUGE and enough to feed 2 at least! Would recommend coming early :)

Quiche and breakfast bagels are always a good choice if you are there in the morning. We love their sandwiches and cookies too (pesto turkey sandwich and chocolate chip oatmeal or molasses cookies are our go to choices!) after I delivered my last baby I had my husband bring me the turkey pesto sandwich at the hospital. Bring me the deli meat! 😆🤰
If you go in during the lunch rush it can take a little longer to get a sandwich - but I always just ask how long it’s going to be if I’m in a hurry.
Also they make a bomb cupcake! 🧁👏 i special order them for parties now.

River Rising is such a great local gem! You can tell it’s a small business where the owner genuinely cares about their employees and the community. The sandwiches are always fresh and delicious, and the cupcakes are honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Their freshly made coffee is incredible—so good that my family in California asks me to ship it to them! It’s the kind of place that makes you feel good about supporting local—friendly faces, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere every time.

I have been going to River Rising for 16 years. And the quality and service has gotten worse and worse. I went in today with four people ahead of me and I thought great it should only be a 10 to maybe 15 minute wait for my two drinks. No 25 minutes later I got them and they were terrible. I ordered a frappe and it was like a waterery ice drink not thick like it should be. This is not the first time this has happened but will be the last.

Food is fantastic every single time without fail, but unfortunately the girl in the front that took my order and rung me up was incredibly rude and cold. I had a pickup order (not the same girl that took my order over the phone) I tipped accordingly, she never said hi, she never said have a good day, she acted like I was in her way and she wanted me gone. I had to look at her and tell her to have a good day. This is the only complaint that I have about their establishment is that unfortunately the girls are usually incredibly rude no matter what the circumstances are. Once again, great food though.

The coffees are water down and you can get better from a coffee pot at home. They also don't offer refunds on products. Truly gross. If you don't like coffee then you should be safe. And I'm sorry to the barista that thought we were personally attacking her and bad mouthing us behind the counter.

Arrived on Friday around 2 pm. The menu is confusing because there’s so many menus to look at. There was a sandwich board, a digital coffee menu and lots of signs. We couldn’t tell what kind of food they had because it was confusing. When after waiting in line about 10 minutes we finally found printed menus.
While in line, we heard the staff rudely complain about a “whiny” customer who requested a towel to wipe down her table. She told another employee that the customer should have just shut up and chosen a different table. Well, Customers shouldn’t have to ask for a table to be wiped down in the first place, let alone hear about the staff complain about their customers.
We eventually ordered food, and we all got soup and sandwiches and drinks. (Some of us wanted water as well. The water carafe was empty and never got filled while we were there.) The soup was described as roasted red pepper with feta topping. Our soup came without the feta and needed it, it also needed seasoning but the feta would have helped for sure. The drinks were a blackberry type tea that was so overly sour we all added about 3 packs of sugar to combat it and it didn’t really help.
I love mushrooms, so I got this grilled sandwich with a mushroom tapenade. It was inedible and I only had a few bites, as it was so gross. The tapenade was a wet mush that tasted of dirt and sticks and made the bread wet and soggy. My party all had turkey sandwiches which were fine. I also got a cupcake, it was good but so dense and wet.
We could hear other people in the restaurant complain about the dirty tables, lack of water and one table had to ask where their food was because they were waiting a long time….. Do not recommend.
