The steak house is toasted from a kitchen fire. Totally lost restaurant. Rooms were up wind of blazing fire.
Expensive rooms
2016- Great Montana bar/restaurant! Cheers!
2024 - As we all know, a restaurant is a tough bus to drive. This bus went over the rail and needs new ownership.
Late in 2024 - It burned to the ground. Hopefully it will be resurrected!
Owner started fire or contracted arson?
Some fun facts: Temporary closed sign since Labor Day weekend, so many bad reviews since new owner purchase, then a suspicious fire that started in the attic.
I’m guessing arson by owner to try and collect that insurance money.
It’s all I hear around town including Bozeman too.
Also because the owner is too lazy to update, this business is closed.
Phone message says they're open, After driving 25 miles, the sign on the door says they're closed until further notice.
Great steak!
12 September 2024. Checked website for hours and days of operation. Called to make a reservation. Message states only takes reservations for 10 or more, but clearly states open on Thursdays. Arrived with party of 8 after 1 hour drive. Restaurant door was locked. Open sign was not lit up. Called and got an answering machine with message that confirmed the operating hours. There was no note posted on the door. Not recommended. There are other places to eat in the area.
Awesome staff, service and atmosphere. The steaks and walleye were superb!!!
We were here with family (8 of us). Luckily we went on a Friday so they had burnt ends…which they brought samples of to our table. Everyone loved the food—from meatloaf, to burnt ends, to their salads … everything was really delicious. Service was good and very friendly. Would highly recommend this place.
I had an amazing birthday dinner with friends at McAllisters Inn & Steakhouse.
The bartender recommended the huckleberry martini. Delicious.
Our table shared the chicken wings tossed in a bourbon bacon sauce. OMG!!!
The best I have ever eaten. Next time I am not sharing. They are that good.
I ordered the filet mignon which came with a beautiful side of broccolini. The filet was so flavorful and tender you could slice it with a butter knife. The broccolini had a tasty lemony flavor seasoning that was so good.
The quality of food was exceptional for the price. Hats off to the Chef!!!!
Was very excited to try out this place as it has been a very long time since I have been over to McAllister. The wine selection is hand picked by the owner- and he did a great job selecting them! We tried a few different things off the menu but will say my favorite was the Meatloaf!!!! I normally don’t like meatloaf (unless it’s my husbands!) but this meatloaf is a MUST HAVE… It is not your typical meatloaf! So many wonderful flavors and the texture is incredible. My other favorite was the fried green beans- so good! We also had a tenderloin cooked medium and it definitely did not even need a steak knife. So tender and juicy! Well worth the drive and will be back again to try the burnt ends!!! Thanks to all the staff who made it such a wonderful evening.

You won't find better food in all of Ennis! I had the bourbon and bacon wings and then a steak filet for dinner. I've been searching out the best wings around for a long long time and I finally found them!! Unbelievable! The filet was melt in your mouth delicious. I don't know what the Mcallister is doing to make their food this good but they better keep doing it!
Also, shoutout to my server Chelair! You were so quick to refill my water and so sweet. Thank you for such a great experience. I already can't wait to come back!
Save yourself the disappointment and visit another establishment IN town rather than driving out to McAllister. LONG wait times, over an hour from ordering to having our food delivered.. Disappointing, flavorless 'BBQ'.
Stopped in on a whim. Thankfully they had seating for us. Service was a bit slow but seemed like they might have had newer staff.
Cost is definitely on the higher side. It was well worth it for the steak which was absolutely delicious. We got an array of different items so I’m rating them based on what we experienced. The five stars is primarily for the ribs and steak
Good: ribs, steak, onion rings, fries
Ok: fried okra, brisket
Not bad but not great: loaded Mac and cheese and the pulled pork. Pulled pork was a bit dry and the sausage on the Mac and cheese was a bit tough
For the price of the three meat sampler I’m still very satisfied with the overall quality of all the foods.
Oh boy. This pains me. This restaurant used to be one of my absolute favorites. I would go once a year with family when we were visiting our cabin nearby. It was such an unexpected gem in a tiny MT town. Last Friday, my family and I were once again excited to eat here, only to leave a bit bewildered about how different it is.
We arrived as a party of six at 6:30, fully expecting to have to wait for a table. When we walked in, no one was even in sight, to the point where we wondered if they were actually closed. My husband ended up having to walk through the restaurant to the casino to ask to be seated. It was pretty much all downhill from there. I ordered a dirty martini, but it came out without olives(?) and just straight vodka-I had to ask for olives and some olive juice. Not a big deal though and easily remedied, except it just got worse.
The entire menu has changed under new ownership. They have a giant smoker out front and are really leaning into the BBQ. For that reason, four of us ordered the burnt ends, since they only serve them on Fridays and we figured that must mean they are good. Some of them were good-two out of four plates of burnt ends had a beautiful smoke ring, were tender, and had good flavor. The other two plates had meat that was so incredibly well done that it took me a solid 2-3 minutes to chew. We couldn’t pierce those pieces with a fork. The cornbread on two of our plates was literally black from being overcooked on the edges and they still sent them out. It took 45+ minutes for the side salads to come out. The potatoes Au gratin had a random slice of partially melted provolone cheese on top with no creaminess or cheese in the potatoes. The sweet potato fries were so greasy and unseasoned they could not be held without flopping over. Our meal took 2 hours, even though there was only one other table during our entire time, although a two top came in and walked out after not being served for several minutes. It’s such a bummer this place has turned into this.
OPENS AT 5 FYI!!! Under new ownership
