The have really great flavors of ice cream. The one I had did not taste artificial.
Amazing icecream! Nice place to sit and enjoy it together in the shade. The owner is so nice and got us cups of extra ice in the heat. The Madagascar Vanilla was very good and the Lemon flavor was wow! So amazing. Great place to visit.
This gem had so many great flavors including a seasonal rhubarb. I opted for an affogato, and my husband had the Andes Mint as a milk shake. They were both incredible.
A Hidden Gem in Montana
Who would expect to find some of the best handmade ice cream in a tiny old mining town like Philipsburg? Philipsburg Creamery is the real deal. The flavors are rich and creative, the texture is spot-on, and you can tell everything is made with care. The small-town charm adds to the experience—this isn’t just a stop, it’s a highlight.
Do yourself a favor and go out of your way to try it. Totally worth it.

Wish we wouldn’t have wasted our ice cream treat at Doe’s. Came across the creamery a few minutes later and had to get 3 more scoops. It was awesome. Probably some of the best ice cream I’ve had.
Black licorice, caramel apple (with chunks of apple), and roasted pistachio.

Grumpy old man put one small scoop of ice cream on a cake cone for $4. And it was not the best ice cream In Montana as advertised. Maybe the best in Philipsburg.

Walked down to the creamery looking forward to some delicious ice cream, and it was all dark and locked up. No note on the door, no posted hours, Facebook page says they are open. Super huge disappointment as we are leaving in the morning. ?

This is a very unique shop to stop at when driving through Philipsburg. I thought it was an old ice cream shop that had been there for 100 years or so since the owner Mark uses antique barrel churners, but turns out he built it 6 years ago and is passionate about using them. He even showed us how the barrels worked. Very delicious ice cream and waffle cone too with Montana made ingredients (except for the Madagascar vanilla).I saw a one star review that mentioned he only has one option of plant based milk. He makes ice cream in a small town shop in Montana. Go back to Los Angeles if that’s the kind of thing you expect these days.

Super cool place and awesome ice cream. I had the peaches and cream.
The ice cream is so good and the old man’s dog is so friendly and sweet, but the old man creating those delicious flavors of ice cream looks like he could use a vacation
Love this place! Every flavor of ice cream is delicious, and they make their own waffle cones. Too many delicious flavors to list, but some of our family's favorites are: Cowboy Coffee, Andes Mint Chip, White Lavender, Cookies and Cream, Butte Black Licorice, Hungry Horse Huckleberry, and Peaches and Cream(when this one is on the menu you know it is summertime!).
