Excellent food and very nice cooks and waitresses. One of my favorites is the chicken fried steak meal. We drive from TF just for the desserts!
Amazing small town diner. Food was always delicious and fresh. You can tell a lot of hard work and love goes into each meal.
stopped there today, not very busy and the food was not great the french fries where recooked hard and dark tan in color, burger and prime rib sandwich was very dry. The server was okay will pass on coming here next time.
Service is great, everyone I’ve come in contact with on my 3 visits have been super friendly. The food is just simply ok. Not terrible but not great either. Pies were disappointing…I’m not convinced they aren’t frozen bought pies VS being homemade.
Ask for a chicken club, which I have had a few times, but this time it was just 2 pieces of chicken on a sandwich. Not close to a club really at all. Was charged more than a regular chicken sandwich costs as well.
Good burger
Felt welcome from the moment we walked in.

We had a great farewell party of 22 friends at Ems Cafe. They made us feel like we were the only folks in the restaurant. The food was really good, was promptly served to all within a few minutes ?! Service was awesome!

The Roadside Diner has been an American institution since before the highways were paved. Em's Diner is up there with the best. Friendly staff that greet you as you walk in the door and say goodbye when you leave. There are booths to sit in if you're in a group, and counter with stools if you're alone. The restaurant and washrooms are bright and immaculately clean. As for the food? All the usual diner classics- Ruben sandwiches, eggs any style, burgers, shakes and fries. I had "Murray's chicken fried steak", which was recommended by the guy behind the counter who said his name was Murray. Hot, crispy and delicious and covered in gravy with onions and mushrooms, served with mashed potatoes and vegetables with a side-salad to start. The serving was a bit too large for one person, but I ate it all anyway. I took my Huckleberry pie to go as I was completely full, but that somehow got eaten before I was five miles down the road. Loved it.

There's a difference between poor food and ripping people off. This place offers no value and is borderline defrauding their customers.
The "French dip" was tiny, incredibly dry,
and flavorless. It was the worst sandwich I've ever had. The portions of sides were painfully stingy. They charged my wife a dollar to add tomato to a turkey sandwich. It's a turkey sandwich. It should probably have a tomato. 30 bucks for that.
Also, if you don't serve breakfast, you should probably take Cafe out of your name.
Yep, everyone was pretty disappointed in this place. This place is a complete ripoff, and the owners don't seem to
care about improving it.
Just keep driving. This place only exists due to a lack of competition.

WOW. WOW, WOW, what a great little roadside cafe!! Fresh REAL homemade comfort foods!! I had the Murry's Hungry Man Country Fried Steak. HUGE piece of meat, deliciously seasoned, and covered in the BEST mushoom, onion & brown gravy I have EVER HAD!! Amazing is all I can say!! One of my friends had the Chicken Ambasodor meal...he said it was super awesome too!!
I had stopped in earlier in the day before I checked into my hotel room right across the street. I was looking forward to a fresh slice of Huckleberry pie. Sadly, the last piece had already been served. Soooo I went for a piece of cherry & a slice of rubarb. Just like grandmas!!! Top notch extremely delicious handmade fresh pies!!! It went down smoothly with a couple of cups of fresh hot coffee... made this road weary, motorcyclist day!!
I very highly recommend this as a stop if you are in the area +/- a 100 miles (well worth the drive!!)
The waitress was prompt, kind, and attentive! The owner (Murry) is a great guy, spoke with him a bit, he has a great since of humor and a very kind, friendly personality!!
Unfortunately, we was deep in conversation when our food came, so I missed taking pics of my chicken fried steak.
