So my son and I had lunch here today. I ordered garlic fries. I received cheese fries. (They were undercooked so I didn't eat them) our waitress didn't come to check on us even to fill our water. When she finally did come she asked if I needed a box. That's when I told her I didn't order cheese fries and she said my bad grabbed my plate and walked away. Brings the bill!! Still charges me $2 for cheese fries that I didn't eat or order. Those who know me know I tip well but needless to say I left a dollar. 3rd time eating here with only one good experience. Won't be back

Final made an order from our local eatery this evening, unfortunately I had to leave my review stating we won't be back.
Ordered the Cobb salad, a Burger and Wings. Burger was under cooked, sides of vegis placed in same container as the burger made for a very soggy bun, forgot to give us our fries. The Cobb salad was not made with fresh lettuce, they used a bagged salad mix, forgot the egg, but went ahead and put the browning avacodo in anyways, also forgetting to give us the dressing. The wings tasted like old meat. Per previous reviews I really thought with the "tour idiot" season being over the quality would have been top notch.

Other than a view the place isn’t worth it. They were extremely understaffed, so I won’t speak negatively on the service personnel, but if multiple dishes and orders come out wrong, then the kitchen also has its issues and the manager who is just hanging around chatting with friends should be the one coming to the tables to fix and check up on guests, not the poor over worked and stressed young server. You’d also think that in the land of beef and bison the steaks both beef and bison would be a bit more exquisite, and properly cooked.

The Shoe is an unsuspecting gem just north of downtown Polson. From the outside, you might not guess what lies within, but once you step inside, you'll be treated to breathtaking views that HWY 93 completely hides from sight.
The atmosphere is elegant, with beautiful hardwood floors, massive large-pane windows that flood the space with natural light, and a full bar stocked with a wide variety of spirits. There's ample seating, and the tables are nicely spaced out, so you won't feel like you're dining on top of your neighbors.
Our first visit was on a Sunday Buffet night, and we thought it would be a great way to explore the menu. They absolutely nailed it! The surf and turf had me sold—bison steaks, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, paired with massive shrimp done scampi style. It was like a culinary mic drop.
The mashed potatoes were creamy, well-seasoned with salt and black pepper, and the mac and cheese clearly showcased their mastery of a good Mornay sauce. The chicken wings had a satisfying crispiness, offered with a spicy buffalo sauce or a honey garlic option that hit all the right notes.
And the brownies—oh, the brownies—were chocolatey, fudge-like, and utterly decadent. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you consider skipping dinner entirely next time just to save room.
Our waitress, Antoinette, was an absolute delight. She explained how the buffet worked, kept our waters and drinks filled, and swiftly cleared away used plates. She even took the time to walk my wife through the buffet, pointing out the popular items, and gave us some insider knowledge on the full menu. Her attention to detail was impeccable, right down to serving from the left and taking away from the right. Antoinette made us feel like VIPs, turning a simple Sunday dinner into a special occasion.
This is hands down going to be one of our new favorite spots in the local area. If you're anywhere near Polson, do yourself a favor and check out The Shoe—you won't be disappointed.
Update: Ava the hostess has a great personality, and is playful with the guests. Adds a nice touch.
Mary was out waitress tonight, she was in training but did a fantastic job.

Extremely slow service. Dinner was cold for all 4 people. Steak was ordered medium rare and comes well done. Two of meals were suppose to include salads which never were brought out. When you spend in excuse of $220.00 for 4 people you expect better food. I feel this place might be under new management and still trying to work out the kinks.

Great service for our party of 6 from Josie. Meals quite good but two of us had steaks cooked to excess (we orderd med rare which is apparently difficult for many grill masters). This will not keep us away... have had many fine experiences at The Shoe!

We don't have many options for restaurants here in Polson, so we continue to come back every so often hoping that they will improve. Most of the waitresses have no clue how to do their jobs or know anything about teamwork. It could be such a great establishment if there was some training involved and the cooks took pride in the food that they put out. Maybe hiring some food runners during busy hours so the food can make it out Fresh and hot. Reading the reviews and seeing how the owner has responded to them is very disappointing and immature. Never would I respond like he does no matter how upsetting the reviews made me. Maybe start taking the reviews seriously ( since there are soooo many negatives) and start fixing the problems that are being addressed. Again, this restaurant could be such a great place if they put in the effort and cared more about the customers experiences instead of the money.

Friendly and prompt service with stunning views of the lake! Definitely try to get a table outside. We loved the burnt end appetizer and the ribeye steak was fantastic.

For having a small crowd it still took over 30 mins for 2 people lunches. The fries were not fresh like they sat out & the onion rings were little over cooked.

Is it because this restaurant overlooks the lake they think they can charge you outrageous prices for mediocre food, $22 Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and $18 Cobb salad and then treat you like garbage with horrible servers, long wait times for drinks and food and then have a management staff who couldn’t care less you were in their establishment, “Oh we’re slammed this time of year” then get out of the restaurant business!!!
