Great service with awesome food. I hope more people get a chance to enjoy the food here

Owner is openly abusive if you don't share his political views. Not a place to go for tourists and not a welcoming environment.

Some friends took us out for dinner on our trip to Montana, and the Shoe which it was formerly the Diamond Horseshoe, has been extensively remodeled since our last time there. The food was okay, but servings were small. We attempted to order dessert but of the three items on the menu for dessert the one we wanted was out. We got a reservation for inside but when we got there it was right by the music and so we asked if we could sit on the deck, which is beautiful, and they said they'd move us out there when a table cleared but they forgot about it.The view is great, but there's lots of great views and lots of great restaurants in the area.

The view is phenomenal. The music and food were good. The service on the other hand was atrocious. The gal at the front was overwhelmed and frantic. We left and returned and were finally able to get a table and nobody came after a good half hour. Finally a manager sent someone over and they were out of over half of the stuff we tried to order (Bison Steak, chicken, beers…). The waiter disappeared after taking our order and then forgot to bring back the everything. We found him and told him what we needed and again he disappeared. I finally had to get up from my meal to go find someone to help. He was quick to bring the check and hover over me while I signed but had to be reminded multiple times for to go box. For spending over $100 on our meal, I really expected better service.

No customer service. Long wait times for food and the prices are way to high for the quality of the food you get. We even ate there twice just to give them another chance.

Great spot on the water!! Food was good, I had steak, husband had the burger, with pineapple. Food cooked just right. Waitress was efficient. Huckleberry margarita was very tasty. Not a long wait for food or service.

This spot is great and will accomodate larger parties in a private room. The food is impeccable both visually and taste. The servers are all friendly and bend over backwards to make sure your dining experience is top notch.

This place is awesome for lunch. 1. The view 2. It’s not crowded like at dinner 3. The food and service were wonderful A must is the pork belly appetizer. I swear we both moaned and our eyes rolled up into the back of our heads at the first bite. We shared that at the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potatoes fries. It was more than enough for us and we were full until a snack for supper. Just a warning, they get really busy at dinner time.

I eat lunch and dinner here on a regular basis. It's an insult to the staff and crew to see the "one-and-done" critics complaining. Every business is short-staffed and if you can't come and relax - don't ruin it for the rest of us. Fast food restaurants line the highway here. This is fine dining and a one-of-a-kind view. When they're nice enough to tell you they're backed up - order a beverage or come back on a less busy day. They can control with reservations so walk-ins present any dining establishment a challenge. Please be kind to them whether they look you in the eye or not; perhaps that's why they didn't? And above all - THANK THEM for being there.

We arrived 45 mins ahead of our reservation and to our surprise we got seated right away. Linda was our server. She was very nice but I think possibly over her head. We waited a bit for her to take our drink/app order. We did finally get our drinks and apps then had to wait to give our order. We again waited quite a while (restaurant closes at 9 we were seated at 7) to the point the hostess/mgr came over and asked if we were still waiting for our food. We finally got our meals at 8:50 and unfortunately not correct. 1 steak was over cooked and missing the sautéed mushrooms AND the potato was supposed to be loaded and it was plain, we didn’t bother to complain as we waited so long, it was past redemption. The bright spot here was one of the bussers Michael came to our table and asked if we wanted water so we took him up on it and I tipped him directly. There was also a duo playing during dinner and they were fabulous. Let state here that I do not feel the situation was entirely Linda’s fault. I believe the kitchen is overwhelmed and can’t handle a high volume. This place could be som much better than it was.

I’m giving it 2 stars only because the view is amazing! We were told when we walked in by the hostess (she really was very nice by the way) that food was taking almost an hour to get but we said no problem to that. We love the view and we’d sit outside and enjoy the scenery while we waited. We were seated right away and then we sat and sat and sat… for 30+ minutes. Several waiters and a waitress were out on the deck yet not one of them ever came by and took our drink or dinner order. They would come right by our table and never acknowledge we were there. I understand restaurants get busy but at least acknowledge a new table and get them a water if nothing else. This place was recommended by several people in the area and we were really looking forward to it, but completely disappointed with the service. We ended up leaving still with not even a drink order after 45 minutes and I honestly don’t think anyone noticed. Hopefully if you go, you have a better experience than we did.

This place was recommended by a few people so we tried it. I can’t tell you about the food. We were told upon entry the service was backed up but we were not in any hurry. What got us was after sitting there for 30 minutes 5 waiters passed us even serving tables around us without even acknowledging us, we were never asked if we even wanted a water. So we left.

Beautiful view, good food but good lord it took 45 min for our order to come out on a slow Friday lunch.

Great view and decor, very slow service. 1 hour for drinks, 1.5 hours for the first app, French onion soup stay away, more like packs of gravy with splash of water. Definitely DO NOT GET THE STEAKS, it’s terrible. All in all over priced for tasteless food that took over 2 hours to get even when the place wasn’t that busy.
