Absolute perfection! We were welcomed immediately and seated for reservation. Service was impeccable. We had the delicious carrots to start followed by the MT wagyu strip and scallops- both were perfectly prepared and delicious. Cocktails were original and innovative. They had an amazing band performing, but the most impressive part was the warm and welcoming atmosphere and service. Kat went out of her way to welcome us (we are new to town), check in on our experience, introduce us to her husband Mike, a bartender, and one of the musicians. Honestly, could not have asked for better food, beverages, service or music. We can’t wait to return. Do NOT miss this place when coming to Red Lodge.

Food and drinks are amazing. Chef Chase does a great job with flavors and textures. We even tried one of the vegan options and it was great. A couple of the higher lever folks gave excellent service but our server was not great, had a weird attitude, and rarely made eye contact.

Had another outstanding meal here this weekend, followed by live music upstairs. Every employee here is extremely friendly and helpful, and even when there were (minor) issues with our meal, their response was immediate and assured.
My *only* suggestion would be to have a clear space for people to stand when waiting to be seated. The place was packed when we arrived and it felt awkward standing in the doorway.

I cannot express how wonderful the staff, food, and drinks are here. Chef and sous chef came out after our dinner party was wrapping up - which everything on our menu was delicious. If you are here during the 2025 fall season, get the noodle option. I am still craving it! Everything was exceptional. The restaurant manager, Selena was truly the best along with the bartenders! Thank you Magpie for everything. Your staff and food made our night!

LOVE it here! The food and cocktails at Magpie are consistently excellent — the kind of quality I’d expect in a big city, not a small mountain town. What really makes it special, though, is the hospitality. Even when they’re busy (and they usually are), the staff make you feel welcome and taken care of, like you truly belong there.

My wife and I had a birthday event here with our friends this past weekend and it was an overall excellent experience. The food, service, and drinks were phenomenal. Kat made planning the event a breeze and personalized, which made the experience all the more pleasant. We will be making this spot a regular visit for us when we visit Red Lodge! If you have not tried this place, give it a shot. Super relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

We made a reservation for 6:00pm but arrived a little early, 5:40pm, with no expectations to be seated. The host told us a group was finishing up at our table but we could sit on a could and order drinks. Drinks and an appetizer were placed to fill the time. At 6:15pm the same person who told us our table was wrapping up, said we have a table for you due to a cancellation and mentioned our table was still occupied. The table she offered was in a corner and was vacant the entire time we were seated at the couch. She rushed over there and put menus on the table and returned to our couch area. We were okay waiting for our other table so we asked if they were still wrapping. She said “no, but your table is over there”. Basically telling us that’s your table and you have no choice. Her attitude was completely unacceptable and we’re pretty confident she was lying about the other table based on her abrupt and condescending behavior. Our server was okay but took 20 minutes to get drinks as they sat on the bar. I’m rather shocked reading other reviews and their positive comments. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. We walked out at 7:40pm, two hours after our arrival and loads of people trying to get in. Btw, owner, the halibut you served was not fresh. Fish should never smell, ever! Unless you buy it from a grocery store, then it should smell just like the fish you served.

We had such a great experience at One Legged Magpie! The Rita Hayworth cocktail was very good. The pizzas were excellent too—flavorful, fresh, and cooked just right. Great atmosphere and friendly service made the night even better. Can’t wait to come back!
