It’s fine if you need fried food that your kids will like. Located in Red Lodge as you head to the mountains, it’s your last stop for food/milkshakes. Located right next to Rock Creek, location is good.

Red Box Car is a Red Lodge tradition…they have awesome food, wonderful staff and scenic Rock Creek dining. Some may say they need to ‘update’ their exterior…but WHY? It just wouldn’t be the same with a facelift. It works…so keep on doin what you’re doing!!! A real dining option for Red Lodge - tourists & locals alike!!!

We have been coming here for 25 years. Love the setting by ths creek. Kind of disappointing tho, as the prices just keep going up, like everything else does, but there is no maintenance done to this place. They used to have indoor bathrooms, but now only portable toilets outside that were very full. Seems like the money must be going other places instead of maintenance foe the customers to enjoy.

I got the bacon cheeseburger with fries. Burger was most excellent. Bacon was crispy, which I asked for. I would eat here again.
They were very busy when we got there but they ordering went fast and we were served pretty quickly. They had a bean veggie burger for one in our party.

They had the best Huckleberry shakes! The train motif and beautiful scenery being right down by the river was fun for the kids. The burgers were the family favorite. Another notable mention was the chicken sandwich. If you are in the area I would definitely swing by the Red Box Car!

We have always heard good things about Redbox car, but we’ve never gotten the chance to try it until this weekend. On our way to Cooke city we decided to stop for a quick bite. It was delicious! We got a ton of different things: burgers, chicken tenders, shrimp and onion rings and it was all so good and we got it pretty fast. We loved eating on the picnic tables by the river. It was a beautiful spot.
