The best brewery in Montana.

The beer is great, the service is great, the atmosphere is great with an excellent back patio but the food is awful. We had a brisket sandwich that was very tough, fatty and tasteless and we had nachos that where awful. Go there to drink and then go elsewhere to eat.

Folks with allergies beware!! Lovely little spot but extremely uninformed servers and kitchen about allergies. I told the server I had a gluten allergy (celiac disease) and asked some questions about things on the menu. He acted offended that I would ask, saying, "it should be gluten free, I don't know why it wouldn't be..." and when I asked him to verify with the kitchen he ignored me.
We ordered spinach and artichoke dip with only veggies and the veggies came out with crumbs of bread on them (likely from someone not changing gloves). Then after eating some of my pulled pork I went in to ask someone else if the BBQ sauce was GF. Only once someone else overheard me asking did the server come out and say "oops, I'm sorry the pork is made with beer." We paid our check but I wished we just walked out. Needless to say, I'm very angry at how irresponsible this team was even after me trying to speak up for myself.

Overall good beers but the food was just okay to me. Service was slow, but guessing it was more of a short staff situation. My favorite were the brown ale and the pear cider!

I didn’t actually go in unfortunately - some comments on google say they’re dog friendly on patio so I just wanted to drop a note - there is a clear permanent sign that says no animals on the patio or inside, don’t waste your time. Seen 6/1/2024. Cheers.

We are visiting from out of state and wanted to stop by and check out the beer and support a local business. I had also previously seen Sam's Taproom and Kitchen as an option in town, not realizing it was in the same place. The Google hours for Red Lodge Ales was listed as closing at 10pm, while Sam's was 9pm. When we pulled up, we realized they may both close at 9pm but wanted to go and ask to be sure. If they closed at 10, we wanted to stop by and get some beers. We walked in at about 8:40pm and asked a sweet girl at the counter. She let us know that they do close at 9 but she was ready to help us. Another woman behind her chimed in and started yelling about how the Internet was wrong and their location hours have been wrong for two years and it couldn't be fixed. It was so aggressive and weird that we didn't feel comfortable staying or purchasing anything since this woman clearly wanted to be out of there at 9pm and did not want to help us. We thanked the girl that helped us and left.I just edited and updated your Google hours for you to reflect the 9pm closing time, which was accepted and is now updated correctly. We're bummed it was such a weird and negative encounter. I grew up spending summers in Red Lodge and that is not the hospitality I've experienced here.

Visiting from California, tried the Hefeweizen, super happy with my choice. The word that pops into my head: delightful. Hope I get to try the others soon!

I cannot rave about this place enough! Our service was great, the drink selection was excellent, they actually had several ciders on tap, which is awesome cause a lot of places don’t seem to have any. Their ambience was really nice. It wasn’t too loud or boisterous. We had the cubano sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! I would drive hours to have that sandwich again. Highly recommend
