We were traveling through on an early Sunday morning. After a couple of hours on the road, we were more than ready for breakfast. TB’s Diner was one of the few places that were open. We were going to eat there no matter what because there weren’t any other options. What a delightful surprise this place was! The restaurant itself is simple, but clean, and filled with charm. We were greeted warmly and immediately. Before we knew it, the coffee was flowing. I ordered the huckleberry french toast with a side of extra crispy bacon. The French toast was made with huckleberry bread, with huckleberries dispersed throughout. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We were given an abundance of real butter and a small carafe of pancake syrup. I am often disappointed in the extra crispy bacon I order because few places get it right. It’s either too chewy or burnt. Not at TB’s. The bacon was perfectly crisp, without even a hint of chewiness and not a speck of char. My husband ordered 2 eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and huckleberry pancakes. I didn’t take a picture because it was nearly gone by the time I thought of it. If you’re on your way through, don’t miss this place.
