My father and I came in on 11/20/24. Since we are both from Twin/ Madison area. We remember it closed and the previous owner. I ordered a whiskey and coke which was very weak more like a coke than whiskey, and my father ordered a Miners Gold. The salad bar was just okay, no soup, but looked like first come first serve. The NY steak that I ordered was extremely tough. Plan potato, when asked for a loaded potato, this was a waitress response “ all we have is butter and sour cream” didn’t push it because I’ve been in the service industry so if they “don’t have” means to much work for me. My father’s fish & salad, was under cooked. Though it looked cooked on the outside it was soggy on the inside. Fryer was clearly on the wrong setting or didn’t cook to the actual temperature time. After dinner my father ask about dessert and surprise surprise, no ice cream nor any pies… but the icing on the cake was when we came in I and sat down I really enjoyed the bartender and waitress side eye when we sat down. Way to assume about two locals!! Hence why I don’t go out to local diners for okay food and judgy people. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re just going in for a salad.

I got the burger basket with waffle fries and my wife got the chicken tender basket. the prices were very reasonable, we spent $27 after the tip. My burger was very good, my wife said the chicken tenders were alright. The waffles fries we both thought were delicious. The atmosphere is that of a small town diner. One side is the restaurant side the other is the bar side. We didn’t go to the bar side and I didn’t get anything from there so I can’t speak on that part.

Wow! I have never in my life had such rude and nasty customer service from anyone. The lady wearing the money apron was our server and her attitude wasb down right obnoxious. If you are looking to be insulted then this is the place for you! It also took 1.5 hours to get our food. We will never be back.

Great local diner. Went for breakfast with the family. Large portions, good price, good service, and delicious food. Would return without hesitation.

Stopped in on our way to Bannack State Park to grab some lunch. The breakfast buffet was good and the hamburger and fries were too. The staff was not very welcoming at first. That probably thought we were transplants because of our accent. Staff eventually warmed up. All in all it was good.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our meals and accommodating the dietary requirements was spot on! The celiac had the Captain's Wrap (sans wrap), the vegetarians had the taco salad (seasoned rice substituted for beef) and the reviews were very positive. Others had nothing but positives about the fish & chips, the bruschetta shrimp ceasar salad, the chicken chipotle wrap, and my roast beef dip was delish! Also, perfection on the ceasar (no tabasco, extra worcestershire)

Love the feel of this 1950's style cafe and bar. Hamburgers are big and thick. Onion Rings are real and crispy, not the minced onion you get at other places. Bartenders are friendly, social and pour a geat cocktail. Lots of locals come here. Highly recommend you stopping by for great food and Montana hospitality.
