2025: Update, tried again two years later- we had a reservation and were there about 55 minutes and had appetizers (super good food!) and we're pondering what to get next when the host/wait staff came over and told us there was a big party here and they needed our table and we needed to finish our drinks and leave. Felt pretty weird since we hadnt even been there an hour. The waitress was not super attentive and maybe we could have ordered before that if she had been, but honestly we were just enjoying each others company and weren't in a rush- its too bad the restaurant was. There were a few different options to seat the big table, or maybe just move us- that would have been fine. We just left and went to jesse peppers bbq to finish our night!
2022: Not sure if we just hit a bad night but the service was really slow, like 15 minutes for a draft beer. The atmosphere was really good as were the appetizers. The room was so hot we all felt horrible. Most of us ordered the steak which was probably the worst steaks we’ve ever had... they were cooked perfect but came out Unseasoned, grey, and tasted boiled. I hate to leave a review like this but just like to give honest reviews. I’d try it again just because I’m hoping it was an off night based on all the other great reviews, and the restaurant itself is really cool. Plus it’s owned by a couple young ambitious women who opened it during college- super near story! Try it and hopefully you will have a better steak! Or get something else because everyone who didn’t have steak was satisfied!

The Jawbone has really become a staple of Meagher County... The food is great, the service is better; but its the atmosphere of the Jawbone that really tops the cake. If you're looking for the best place to eat in 100 miles, this is the restaurant you're looking for.

The Jawbone captures everything great about small-town Montana hospitality while delivering a dining experience that rivals big-city restaurants. Highly recommend, this place is a true culinary gem in the heart of Meagher County.

Everything about the Jawbone is amazing! The staff is great. The drinks are phenomenal and the food is even better. The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared, especially the filet and salmon. The atmosphere blends rustic charm with comfort. A must-visit if you’re in White Sulfur Springs!

The food here is excellent and will rival anything in the State. Highly recommend sitting at the counter to eat just so you watch the chef apply his skills, it's a treat to behold. The staff is very friendly and offered abundant suggestions. I have lived in Bozeman for 45 years, but this is my favorite new restaurant.

We got there 30 minutes earlier than our reservation, but were instantly seated by a wonderfully pleasant hostess. The atmosphere was quaint with some music playing in the background and tables closely situated. Food was good quality and came out quickly. They had a good drink selection and the service was very good as the hostess was very attentive! Good experience overall and of course the incredibly beautiful drive from Bozeman.

Had a fantastic meal there last night with my wife. Frankly the best meal out I've had this year. Food and service were awesome.

Excellent! Had a couple appetizers and shared an entree. Food was top notch and the craftologist (Naomi) and the host (Cassie) were amazing. 10/10
Espresso martini, Manhattan and Old Fashioned were right on par. Can’t wait to come back!

I can’t believe we found this hidden gem. We started our night with huckleberry lemon drops which were so cute and yummy! Our food was all amazing from the braised beef to the filet. The staff was super friendly and we can’t wait to go back.

This place is amazing - we are so lucky to have this is rural Montana. This restaurant could exist in any big city - it’s so good.

We went out for our valentines date and we were not disappointed. It’s hard to find food that’s impressive all around and they did it! The jawbone is fine dining at its best, make sure you have a reservation because it’s a small quaint restaurant with a chef you can watch make each meal fresh! The chicken and risotto was amazing the baked Brie was divine (please make this portion bigger) it was so good! My husbands ribeye was so tender and cooked to perfection. The service was awesome she had the whole restaurant to herself and was still attentive. We will be back for another date night!

This is an adorable restaurant. We loved that it was small and cozy. The service was good, wonderful selection of drinks and the cocktails were awesome. We ordered all of the small plates which were nice. My husband and friend had the filet mignon and both LOVED it. Cooked to perfection medium rare. My other friend and I got the braised beef with risotto and the beef was sadly extremely dry for both of us. The risotto was super tasty though! The waitress was so apologetic and replaced our meal with a filet mignon. It was so bizarre but ours came out totally scorched (asked for it medium) and again… dry. We both had one bite. The waitress did take care of us as she said she could see how overcooked it was and I promise, we’re not normally high maintenance. We felt bad, she felt bad, it was just an awkward situation all around. Needless to say, Jawbone seems to be hit or miss. Maybe the chef was just having a bad moment with us. I’d love to give it another shot as I think it’s such a unique restaurant but it’s a high price tag for it to not reliably be good.

Not enough acid and too much dry cabbage on the winter salad. Lobster bisque had no flavor. Filet was grainy and tough, not great flavor. Brussels were great! Service was top notch! Drinks were good and wine was delicious!
