This restaurant is on the water so a great ambiance. They also serve our favorite beer, Chela de Playa IPA Blanca ?. We enjoyed ceviche and a seafood pasta. They bring a little pot of oil and another with salsa for your chips. The oil is Uber caliente. ?️

Fabulous views and service, but whooooboy the prices … over 300MXN for soup?? Save this for a special occasion or when you’re on a diet as everything seems to be very health conscious!

I have to start by saying the service was excellent, no complaints there. The appetizers were decent, we had ceviche and Chile relleno. But every single main dish (we ordered six as it was a large group) was very, very bad except the lobster tacos. My husband’s octopus was so bad I sent it back, which I rarely do. To their credit, they did not charge us for the dish. My brother in law had the other octopus dish and did not like it either but felt bad and didn’t want to send it back. The steak and soup the others ordered was also bad.For a place that is quite expensive, requires a reservation, and rests its reputation on its seafood with so many other less expensive seafood options nearby, I would strongly recommend skipping. I have no idea why it’s so highly rated, unless it’s just the service and atmosphere alone. Maybe just order appetizers?

The only downside is if you don’t come here on your first day!! The food is ‘write home about it’ good…. Beyond good - f*&king fantastic. The waiter was kind enough to give me some of the amazing habanero sauce (roasted, I think - and oddly not too crazy spicy) to go. Friendly service - you can tell they work as a team. Gorgeous, right on Half Moon Bay! (I sat inside because it was windy but there were plenty who braved the weather). Can’t wait to go back and try more items.

Such a nice restaurant experience right on the beach! Quiet, relaxing and nice food. I ordered tortilla soup which was delicious. Cocktails great. Not cheap but not overly expensive. Retry reasonable for the area! We stopped in here for lunch after the morning at Tulum Ruins and Cenote Yal-Ku.

There are many vegan menu options, however you are not able to customize anything. I get it, set menu, no customization. It is great that they offer so many meatless options, however it would be nice to have some vegetarian options too (not just vegan). I really wanted some real cheese!I ordered the mushroom risotto, but was told after ordering it was no longer available. So I opted for the mushroom tacos which were unfortunately quite under-seasoned. The very thick vegan cheese-like sauce on top was off-putting. The vegan stuffed poblano was ok; I liked the savory green mole sauce on top, but the sweet fruit filling really clashed with the other flavors. Just not for me I guess. The dessert was my favorite here: a chocolate mousse cake with whipped cream and a fresh apple sauce. It was delicious!

This was our favorite place that we ate at in the Akumal area.Food and cocktails were great. Lots of vegetarian and seafood options. You can eat oceanside.Definitely more chill (and way better) than the other spots along this strip.Highly recommend trying the tuna tostadas!

We got the fish taco’s, beef taco’s and empanadas. Fish tacos and empanadas were subpar and lacked flavour. Beef tacos were marginally better. Steep pricing for what it was. If you’re looking for good food, do not visit. You’re paying for ambiance here.

We have eaten at La Lunita several times over the last 5 years, and while we love the restaurant, food and simple oceanside ambience, we weren't happy with the pricing this last visit. We used to feel that we got incredible value at La Lunita, but at this point the prices are so high that we're beginning to feel underwhelmed by it.We noticed prices significantly raised at most places during this last trip, andd La Lunita was no exception. We didn't feel that our meal was worth the price that we paid.
Vegetarian options: They consciously have a few great vegan options!
