Wow is all I can say. The chef is a first class master and the service was fantastic. This by far was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I got the short ribs and my husband got the duck. Truly an experience you won’t forget. Also chocolate dessert was heavenly. Beautiful ambiance and everything is detail oriented. The food is like art.

Great place, just accross the Lagoon. We had the 6 taco menu, creamy rice, castacan and brownie. Everything was superb, with good portions and excellent taste. Extra points for the great ambience, music and service.

Nobody else was there when we passed by this restaurant. We thought going somewhere else but in the end decided to give it a go as the little one was getting hungry. Happy we went here. For me the best meal we had in Mexico. From the appetizers to the deserts, nothing but extremely tasty dishes. Prices were normal, in line with good restaurants in other cities in Mexico. And substantially lower than prices in Tulum.

If you want to enjoy what Bacalar has to offer in its wealth of ingredients come to this unique restaurant for its exciting tasting menu. I came with some friends and we loved all seven dishes prepared by chef Carlo and his staff. There's a great selection of Mexican wines and the wine the chef recommended paired great with every course, especially with the Aguachile. It was a beautiful evening and unique experience. The staff was super attentive and we had a great view of the open kitchen. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Absolutely incredible. We felt like this place looked decent but our expectations were surpassed. This was by far our favorite meal of the trip and it felt like a Michelin star worthy experience. If I am anywhere near Bacalar again (and I hope to be) I'll be back

This is an exceptionally good restaurant in Bacalar. Not only was each course delicious, but the service was also excellent! There is a tasting menu available for those who want to experience a wider variety of the chef’s dishes, but we simply ordered a few things a la carte. The highlights included the meatballs, the tortilla soup, the snapper, and the ossobuco. The food was particularly interesting for the way the chef highlights local ingredients and preparation methods. Yucatán fruits, vegetables, and sauces were prominently featured in each item. So you get interesting interpretations of many “classic” dishes. In other words, this isn’t the sort of food you can get anywhere. Everything was incredible, and the cocktail pairings were also fantastic. For an unforgettable meal in an elegant setting, I highly recommend Costera 28!

Great fine dining, the Chef Carlo provided us an complimentary vegetable dish and ice cream for dessert. Our dishes were done with almost all locally sourced ingredients which highlight the vast variety in the region. The glazed brisket was delicious, best potato purée I’ve ever had. Great service as well Caro was very friendly and provided good advice on menu and on things to do in Bacalar

Truly a spiritual experience eating here. The best meal I have had in maybe my entire life. Do not miss eating here while in Bacalar! I’ve tried Michelin star restaurants and this beat them out. The chef puts his entire heart into every dish and the experience is nothing short of incredible. You can taste the love. The chef brought out a complimentary appetizer. The flavors were sophisticated and so well balanced. Absolutely amazed and so very grateful to have had this experience.

Next to excellent food, this restaurant also offers an experience. We took the 4 course menu and were amazed by the delicious dishes served as a piece of art. You can taste the chefs passion for food. Combing this with the excellent service, we can really recommend it!
food was delicious in a nice day relaxing atmosphere. Loved the croquetas and the catch of the day was delicious. Definitely recommended !

Costera 28 is a five star dining experience -- beautiful ambiance and open air seating with a view of the laguna, delicious Mexican cuisine options obviously chosen and prepared by a first class chef, and excellent service! It's the place to go for a celebratory dinner or to make any night feel extra special!
