⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐My dining experience at Basmati restaurant within the Excellence Resort, Riviera, was simply exceptional! Amir, our wonderful server, went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. From the moment we stepped into Basmati, Amir's warm and welcoming demeanor set the tone for a delightful evening. As we expressed our curiosity about Indian cuisine, he took it upon himself to walk us through the intricacies of the dishes and explain the rich flavors and cultural significance behind each one. His knowledge and passion for the cuisine were truly impressive. What truly stood out was Amir's attentiveness to our big group. With his expert guidance, we were able to sample the best of everything the restaurant had to offer. From aromatic biryanis to flavorful curries and delectable naans, each dish was a delight to our taste buds.Throughout the evening, Amir's genuine care and consideration for our preferences were evident, making us feel like we were dining with a close friend rather than just being served by a restaurant staff. His personalized touch and dedication to ensuring we had an unforgettable experience truly made a difference. The Basmati restaurant itself provided a beautiful and inviting ambiance, complementing the exquisite dishes served. The combination of excellent service and delectable Indian cuisine made for an unforgettable dining experience that will linger in our memories for years to come.If you find yourself at the Excellence Resort in Riviera, Basmati is an absolute must-visit, and make sure to ask for Amir as your server. He will undoubtedly elevate your dining experience to another level, leaving you with a lasting impression of warmth, hospitality, and a newfound appreciation for Indian cuisine. Five stars all the way!

Geronimo was our server and he is one of the best servers we had at the resort. He was very attentive and made sure our water and wine glasses were full.I also love Indian food and the dishes here were great. I had the chicken Tikka Masala and my wife had the chicken biryani, and both were delicious. We also had the fried ice cream and it was so good! This was one of our favorite restaurants at the resort!
We enjoyed the chicken tikki marsala, garlic Naan, and rice dessert. Seating at the restaurant is somewhat limited, so we had a brief 15-minute wait.

Outstanding Indian restaurant. They cook to whatever level of spice one desires. The staff are so friendly and the service is fantastic. We come back time after time.
We explained this was our first time for this type of food to the waiter and he served a variety of dishes and they were great choices. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal.
Dress code was not adhered to. Drink order wasn't taken until we asked. Food was mediocre. Other restaurants at the Excellence Riviera Cancun are far superior.
One of the several restaurants located at Excellence Riviera Cancun all-inclusive resort. A good change-of pace restaurant if you want a break from Mexican or seafood. The hits were the vegetable samosas, garlic naan bread and the lamb vindaloo curry.
Restaurantji Recommends
Amir was our waiter. He was attentive and pleasant. My husband loved his butter Chicken and my Chicken Tikki Masala was excellent. Only felt that the Samosa dough was a little heavy but the onion appetizer was awesome. Don’t miss it. We were a little disappointed that they weren’t able to prepare the fried ice cream for dessert. But not a big deal.aAtmosphere was romantic. And not crowded.
The Makhani chicken and the tikka massala is to die for. Samosas are delish ONLY let down is that the onion bhajis are just fired onion rings NOTHING like a real onion Bhaji
You must eat here. The food and the ambiance was perfect. And because I was alone they made extra attention to my needs.
Outstanding and delicious Indian food. Had a bit of a wait but well worth it. Lamb and chicken marsala were our choices and some of the best we've ever eaten.
