The waters are extremely sweet and if you don't ask for ice they won't offer it to you. The package of tacos is not convenient because the best ones are not included in that promotion and they end up overcharging you. The sauces and stews no longer have the flavor they used to, there were times when I didn't eat there and I was very disappointed.
It's worth making the trek to the Colonia side of PM to check out these local tacos. Come for breakfast, pay around 90 pesos and you'll get three tremendous tacos and a drink. Just point to the toppings you want and don't forget the self-serve salsa bar. Fresh tortillas too. You can't go wrong. This is a local spot and if you need a fancy coffee afterward or before, check out Immortal Cafe practically next door.
As always it is a delight to have breakfast at Taquería Ely! They offer the “Ely combo” which is a choice of 3 stew tacos and a glass of flavored water (usually orange, horchata, hibiscus and tamarind). Tacos that are special stew have an extra cost. All the information is visible. The tortillas are made by hand. One of the most authentic places to have breakfast in the Riviera Maya.
