Be careful with these thieves, they are on the lookout for tourists to charge them 4 times more than the price. They have a waiter on the beach, a fat and despotic guy who offers a small snapper fish and I charge it at 950 pesos. We ended up paying 2500 pesos and before The guy was in a bad mood. I'm going to file my complaint with the mayor of the town and in life I'll come back or recommend this town of Mahahual. This kind of people ruin the work of others and tourism

Horrible, run away from this place. It is excessively expensive. Upon arrival they told us that they did not rent the palapa, only consumption and in the end they wanted to demand a dish per person that of course we do not accept (for example, breaded fish 350 pesos) low quality cocktails 150 pesos each. They do not want to show the letter claiming that it comes in English and in dollars and "countrymen" were charged less, a lie! They charge even more than what is on the menu, water, I do not recommend this place at all, besides that their waiters seem like vandals and they want to intimidate you if you do not consume what they want.

Don't be fooled by their waiters on the beach, they showed us a couple of small lobsters that they served us overcooked that it was almost impossible to get the meat out of the shell, the beans were watery bland and a bit raw, the lemonade was the only good thing that they knew how to do... all this for the sum of 2000 pesos!?

There were 9 of us and were told as long as we ordered drinks or food there would not be a charge to sit there. Asked if we could sit in the shade no problem. Were told the beers would be $3.00 each. After ordering 12 beers we were told we had to leave since we had not ordered more beers. We still had beer in the bucket. Ordered Corona and brought XX, said out of Corona. Asked for the bill and they wanted $100.00 US. We stated that was not what was negotiated. They said said some people sat in the shade there was an extra charge. Finally got the bill down to $80.00 and we still stood our ground. Finally gave them $64,00 . They said they were going to call the police. Beware of these scam artists. Even with negotiated prices do not believe these schisters. I hope this review keeps many people away from this establishment. We were on a cruise and I will be posting there also to everyone going to Costa Maya to stay away from this place!!!

La “Capitana”, the host and chef, made us great pastor and tortilla’s. She even shared the secret to the spices and how to make the tortilla’s.Not expensive at all. 5/5
They are friendly and cool although they are not attentive. The good thing is that you can bring your drink, the ceviche is good and you can stay there for as long as you want, the bad thing is that it's expensive, they take a long time to serve the food and in the end they try to charge you more than the price indicated on the menu.

We ate some tacos al Pastor at night. They were super good and cheap! We liked the little table of ingredients to add to the tacos. We feel a local and family atmosphere.
