Hayhu Beach Club

I have to say I was very disappointed at this location. It was $90 to get there by myself and it was basically an outdoor restaurant with beach chairs. It was hot and there were yellow flies and they bite. The ocean was so full of seaweed it was not really relaxing and that is all the water they have. And it is exorbitantly priced - exorbitant for Mexico. I should have stayed on the ship!

We came here as part of a cruise ship Port stop. We purchased one of the day passes that included transportation and $100 credit for food and drink. It was a beautiful beach, with very good service, very nice sunbeds under a shade, and snorkeling after a short swim the barrier reef offshore. Food and drink were really good. I highly recommend this experience.

Walkability: About 30 minutes from ship, but I would have drove an hour for this place.

Food & drinks: We are on day 5 of our cruise and Hayhu Private Beach is by far my favorite place and food. Everything we ordered was amazing, but the favorite was the grouper and guacamole dip. Margaritas were also exceptional!

Noteworthy details: This place was AMAZING and worth every penny! The staff was superior and very polite and professional.

Walkability: To get there the road is very lonely

You have to go out in sunlight for your own safety.

I had a mixed experience here, staying 2 nights in one of the two rooms over my birthday.

While the room was amazing and the view form the balcony was breathtaking, the service and food was mediocre. Upon arrival I had a Piña Colada and felt sick afterwards. When I told the barman, he got angry at me and stopped talking to me (always addressed my boyfriend and did not look at me - how uncomfortable! Remember we paid 500£ to stay for 2 nights). Also the personal assistant disappeared after the cocktail incident. Basically, stuff can’t take critic.

Service wise, we weee told to have our space at the beach but it was not useable, it took stuff more than the entire morning to clean the beach from seaweed and rubbish.

Would not come back.

Amazing excursion! Beautiful place, great customer service and incredible food! Carlos and Freddy took wonderful care of us. The private deck was spacious enough for the 5 of us and the private restroom was so convenient (beautiful conch sink). The drinks were also amazing - smoky Bloody Mary, refreshing strawberry margarita and regular margarita. The ceviche, guacamole and homemade chips, and shrimp empanadas were phenomenal. You feel like you’re on a deserted island at the ocean but have a fantastic, tropical resort right behind you. I cannot recommend Hayhu enough - just go!

This was our favorite excursion from our cruise! The service was fabulous from the moment I inquired for a reservation to the time we were dropped back off at the port! Communication was through email for reservations then for transportation we communicated with the taxi via WhatsApp. They are very familiar with the ships schedule and we were not worried at all about getting back to the ship on time. The price for what we got was amazing! The food was delicious and the location was so peaceful! If you want to venture out of port but are nervous this is the perfect trip. We felt safe the entire time with the instructions we were given. You do not need to speak Spanish at all. Of course they would love it if you did, but you don’t need to. We would go again in a heartbeat!

Our friends set up a day at the Hayhu Beach Club which was amazing. The food was fantastic and the service was over the top. Took about 30 minutes to get there from the cruise terminal but well worth the trip. HIGHLY RECOMMEND…..

I spent 3 nights in this wonderful place with my fiancée. We were immediately warmly welcomed by the staff, given delicious welcome drinks and shown around the facility. The staff were consistently very accommodating and tried to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The Hayhu Beach Club is located somewhat secluded on the idyllic white Caribbean beach. The abundance of algae is a real nuisance at some times of the year, but it is always removed from the club's beach. It took about 30 minutes to get to Mahahual by car. There you will find small supermarkets, diving schools and whatever else you need. I did two dives off the coast which were very beautiful (dolphins, turtles, stingrays, eagle rays). The Beach Club only has two rooms that are rented out. The rooms are very spacious with a wonderful sea view. There is no air conditioning. It didn't bother us though, as there was a pleasant breeze blowing through the rooms all the time if you left the large doors to the balcony open. The beach and the complex are shared with day guests from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., which for us was always just a few. This meant we had the place almost to ourselves. In high season it is certainly more crowded when there are many day guests coming from docked cruise ships. We ate every evening in the Hayhu (from 6 p.m. the kitchen is only for overnight guests). The food was fantastic (burgers, fish, meat, salads). The meals cost between €15 and €30, which is appropriate for the location and quality. The cocktails were very tasty but rather expensive (€8-16, small beer €3.50). The breakfast was also outstanding. You get tea or coffee, a fresh fruit shake, fruit with yogurt and one of several very tasty dishes.

We would definitely come back if we are in Mexico.

I confirm, it is the best place in Mahahual to spend a quiet, fun and family afternoon. Far from the hustle and bustle, nestled in the virgin area of ​​the region and with great attention, without distinction between nationals and foreigners; concerned that the entire experience is good for everyone equally.

You arrive by taxi from the center of Mahahual in 30 minutes. The road is good and if you are lucky you can see fauna in the area.

The food is delicious, very good drinks and the atmosphere is relaxed.

The beach is wonderful, perfect for all members of the family, the little ones, the adventurers, those who like to swim further and even the furriest enjoy it.

Don't stop going!
