Pitaya Beach Club

I use to love this place, but no matter what their stated hours are, we have not been able to eat there while vacationing in Mahual for the past two years. Every time we go by, either just the bar is open, or it's completely closed. Very disappointing because the food was really good.

The best fish cerviche ever! 1 plate was enough for 3 people to easily share. They include a light green sauce on the side for those who like it spicy! Deliciously hot! Service was a bit slow, but they were packed busy with 3 cruise ships in Port simultaneously. Everyone was very friendly and it was absolutelu beautiful there! A quick taxi trip from the cruise port and for $8/pp

I loved this little corner, far from the places that are invaded by people from the cruise ships (nothing against them) but it is a more private little place with excellent local service ♡

This is an amazing hidden gem! We stopped in Costa Maya on a cruise, and found delicious beer and great service. We saw a sign that spoke our language... it read "Craft Beer". We ordered the craft beer on tap that day. They were an APA and a Bock. Both were very good! The brewer talked to us and gave us insite on what he brews. We only had guacamole for food, but it was delicious and a nice portion. After finding this place, we will be recommending it to anyone taking cruises or just visiting the area. It on our list to revisit!

This is a very friendly and charming place, with a very tiny price to pay, we had our own private spot, comfortable and in the shade, great food and charming owners. Made us feel very welcome and safe. I would highly recommend it. With the owners we connect nicely. Ciao da Marisa a presto!

Noticed this place had no real crowd and a very small section of beach. The whole vibe was super chill. WE saw a ton of neat fish and sea life not far out from the beach including a lionfish, sea urchins, and various fish. The owners are a wonderful family and their packages are very reasonably priced. I did unfortunately forget my shoes there, which made me cry a bit, but that's what I get for being a drunk girl with ADHD. Overall I would definitely go back. (If anyone spots a gray pair of New Balance v480's in the sand, I'll literally pay to get them back! ?)

We enjoyed our day at Pitaya while in port on a cruise. In order to secure a lounge and shade on the beach in Mahahual, we booked privately with the drinks included option. We didn’t try the food since we were over fed on the cruise but there was a good selection of beer and it was served cold. Pitaya is a very small club with a relatively quiet location and laid back vibe, plenty of shade, clean beach, and some attractive palms. The lounge cushions were comfortable but could have used an upgrade. We were most impressed by the outstanding communication both when booking and upon arrival at the port. Our fee included transportation and we found our driver near a sign with our name on it. The owner met us at the taxi stop and escorted us to a taxi when we left at a time of our cruising. There are bigger, fancier, and pricier beach clubs but if you just want a few hours at the beach in a nice setting, this is the place.
