Coffee shops in PDC don’t open early enough but Ah Cacao was open. They’re much richer tasting than Starbucks. Their chocolate products are delicately delicious. The cost is on par with Starbucks but worth every cent to a weary traveller. We went back each morning and once in the afternoon for the service, coffee choices and atmosphere.

I love that this Ah Cacao opens at 6am. That makes me so happy!!! My AirBNB is located on the other side of Playa where all the Ah Cacao's open at 7:15am. I think this one is open earlier than the rest of them because it's located near the ADO bus station and people need their coffee bright and early to catch their ADO bus..this is pure speculation.

I wake up super early and occasionally I will walk to the other side of Playa to go to this Ah Cacao because it opens early. I really enjoy the coffee at Ah Cacao and their employees always very friendly!!!

The richest chocolate in Mexico, I think it is a mandatory stop in Playa del Carmen, its Mayan chocolate with a spicy touch, 10/10

I love Ah Cacao! It's my favorite coffee shop in PDC. The mocha both iced and hot is the best. I also love the vegan tamale and vegan chocolate desserts. And the people are always friendly and helpful. The area is nice and clean. Before heading home, I always stock up with whole bean coffee & chocolate to enjoy at home.

Vegetarian options: They have a spinach vegan tamale and a few vegan desserts. Plus all drinks can be made vegan because you can ask for soy milk instead. I don't recall if they have oat or other types of non dairy milk. Oh and they also have vegan chocolate.

A must visit in Playa del Carmen (hoping to return to Cancun soon), excellent drinks, desserts and foods with the best raw materials and at a good price.
I recommend the mocha frappé, exquisite.

There are delicious and refreshing cold drinks. Delicious pastries too. Only the space is very small inside and outside there is heat and humidity typical of the area. There are many original cocoa and other products for sale to take away. You have to come and try. I hope they move to a larger place.

The best cocoa in town!

This was the break I needed from Quinta Avenida madness...even though it was ON the avenue. Lovely service, happy workers, kind and accommodating, plus ACTUALLY decent espresso con chocolate. Needed nothing more. Will definitely be back.
