If you are looking for a place with homemade food it is ideal, every day they have at least three different stews.

This place is so good! It’s run out of a family’s home and the empanadas or tacos are super good! They are open in the day but the “snack menu” is only available after 6:00. Also great prices.

The taste of the food is good and the portion they serve you for the price is adequate. You find several stews a day, mole, pozole, chirmole are tasty

Another impressive place to eat at affordable price! We loved the atmosphere. We went there for lunch. Clean environment. Good tasty food, excellent efficient service, They make the tortilla on site.
Well I discovered this beautiful restaurant in beautiful Playa del Carmen and everything was beautiful as everyone working here is beautiful. I was so pampered by the service and impressed when tested my food. My couple of Margaritas made by Jessi the Bartender OMG. Fernando was always attentive and on top o f my needs. Definitely a place to must stop again. Highly recommended.
My husband and I came to Amate 38 for dinner and tried the guacamole, Chaya empanadas, the fish tikin xic style and the Valladolid style pork loin. All of our food was delicious and we were impressed by the authenticity, flavors and attention to detail. We would absolutely return to this restaurant in the future! Note: Dining is mostly outdoors so you will need to be mindful of mosquitoes or other creatures.
Mayan food is fine. This was our third visit. There's a raccoon family living in the sinote out back and one bit my 1.5yr old which led to our immediate departure to the Emergency Room for the 1st of 4 rabies vaccination shots. Suffice it to say we will NEVER return. Footnote: No food comps were given and my mother in law left to pay the alcohol free food tab while we left to address the wild animal bite.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. The drinks were amazing. Kids enjoyed the tacos. The natural cenote was also really nice to see in the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Had food poisoning right after ordering chicken tacos for dinner; higiene wasn’t taken care of obviously. It is truly disappointing to pay for a service that will cause severe vomiting, avoid this place!
Went twice, one for dinner one for breakfast. Really cool place, amazing food, great service, great drinks!! I cannot recommend this place enough. The owner is always there walking around, waiting tables and making sure everything is working as it should. Not as expensive as one would think. Really nice place.
The place is located in one of the most beautiful streets in Playa del Carmen, surrounded by trees that give the place a jungleish vibe. The restaurant it's beautiful, and the food is just amazing. We had some shrimp tostadas, tikik fish and some shrimps with a green sauce that were just perfect, a very contemporary look to some traditional cuisine from the Mexican peninsula. The staff was super nice, kind and super quick. The food was served super quick and with an amazing flavor. It's an amazing place to eat. I'll be going back, for sure.
We came here specifically because we saw reviews that said that they are aware of gluten and gluten free, but when we ordered our dishes, specifically asked for gluten free, the waitress gave us 1 dish that contains gluten! Half way through eating, another waitress brought more tacos, when we asked about no gluten (only corn tacos) she said they are gluten free but one dish contains gluten (all this took several minutes while the rest of the food got cold) We got angry and explained them how bad it is, but they eventually replaced the bad dish but still charged us for the new dish and the cold food. It was a very bad experience and I suggest people that eat gluten free to stay away from here
This spot is on the most beautiful street in playa del Carmen! The ambiance, the nature, the service and food! Veronica at the front was super sweet and showed me where raccoons are! I saw 4! The vegan ceviche was amazing! Luis my server super nice! Highly recommend! More on my blog & videos
