Chiltepin Marisquillos

We've eaten at this restaurant several times over the last few weeks. We also ate here regularly during our previous stays in Playa del Carmen.
We have been very satisfied with the quality of the food so far. There was nothing to complain about. We were also satisfied with the service. We honored this at all times by paying tips. On Saturday we ate here again as a family, and to be honest we didn't like the service. The starters were literally thrown onto our table. Otherwise the service wasn't good that day either. We found this to be very rude. Therefore, we rightly decided not to tip for this service. There was also no question as to why the tip payment was refused.

Yesterday we ate at this restaurant again. Everything was fine. We would also have been willing to tip for the service. Especially since our daughter spilled an appetizer and we didn't get any support. We had to clean everything ourselves.
However, it was very intrusive to demand 15% from us by hand on the invoice. We have clearly stated that we are prepared to give 10%. No tip was charged for that evening. When we left the restaurant, no one gave us a glance. That was very unprofessional. It should be up to the guest how much they want to tip. Too bad.

I’m a bit confused with this one. The place has fabulous reviews. Tons of people giving kudos to the food and it looks great!

The issues started we got our guacamole - incredibly bland and somehow tasting old. It had an off quality that just made it inedible.

I ordered the octopus taco in two ways - super excited to have the fresh seafood. Both of the tacos were totally drowning the seafood flavor with different spices. One had a ton of cheese that totally overshadowed any flavor of the taco. The other had rubbery octopus that was inedible as well.

The coconut shrimp was the best thing but tasted old and over breaded.

I was super excited for this meal but just missed the mark at every opportunity.

We decided to try some dishes and unfortunately our experience was not the best. We ordered shrimp ceviche which left a lot to be desired, especially for the flavor. We also tried the aguachile and tuna tostadas. The service was very slow and went unnoticed. The atmosphere with very loud music.

We got sick here, probably from the drinks. (It was the only restaurant we ate at that day.) Food tasted good, service was great.

Great food. Best restaurant we found in the city. 1 star deducted because tip 15% was probably too little. We were shown our backs. Nobody said goodbye. We'll be back. This time without a tip.

It's delicious, plenty of space, the red eyes are delicious (beer with clam and sauces)
Excellent to go with friends or family to eat and cool down the heat with some beers

Omg super slooooow we had to wait like more than 40 minutes for the food and the the server was a really rude guy really bad attitude like he didn’t want to serve us maybe because we are not blond they treat you better if you are blond ,some of the food was
Really bad the drinks the horchata and lemonade was absolutely no flavor never again just the tostada was good the only one thing in the menu I like the rest was meah

Terrible service, they don't clean the table, they take a long time to serve. They are not careful with food, they fry everything in the same oil. They don't prepare the drinks as indicated, they leave you waiting for a long time.
I'm never going back

Excellent restaurant for those of us who love seafood. Very delicious foods and good variety. Excellent environment, very clean and tidy. Good ubication. It does not have parking for customers.

We arrived 10min before the kitchen closed. The food was great. The Chiltepín shrimp was so flavorful.
