Corazón Contento PDC

Look to the right and you’ll see an entrance to a yoga studio. The vegan restaurant is through there. They didn’t open till 9:30 so we waited at the front coffee bar and had coffee. It was an interesting “third place” for a lot of people that mingle there on a regular basis. I got to meet a few people. My first impression was the back area was like a cute secret restaurant and there was a yoga session in progress. My husband ordered the tofu scramble and waffles “a las dos” and the server misunderstood that those were two orders of the same thing, for both of us. My father in laws chilaquiles came out with my tofu and waffles, my husband’s plate never came out. For a while we clarified and they realized they misunderstood, while his mango water took a while to come out too. Many places in Playa Del Carmen you can expect to sit and eat a while because the food is made to order. Unfortunately for him that meant his food was just queued in as we were finishing eating. He was still charged as well. The patio was nice but we did encounter mosquitoes, they have Off on request. I loved the food, just bummed my partner had such a bad experience and didn’t get to enjoy it. #Veganuary *Updating to say we gave it another try and had a great experience. My son ate several veggie bacon and all the beans on my husband’s chilaquiles plate, and we ordered more beans. Great food and no issues. Updated from previous review on 2025-01-04

This restaurant/ cafe is incredible. It was the highlight of our trip. All food is made from scratch and tastes fresh and amazing. The portions are great for the price! It’s tucked away in a beautiful jungle like setting with a wonderful coffee shop attached so you can enjoy the best coffee ever, with your meal! You don’t miss out on flavour at this place. Everything is so flavourful!! The server was so kind and the chef came out to chat with us and ask us for feedback. The vibe here is immaculate and I would suggest this to you over any other vegan restaurant in Playa.

Vegans visiting Plays del Carmen rely on Happy Cow ratings. This is a top-rated location and for good reason. The food is exceptional. Local vegans also frequent here (always a good sign!). Co-located with a coffee bar if you're in the mood for caffeine.

Another beautiful lunch at Corazón Contento ! The food is always super delicious, beautifully served, the staff is super friendly and cool, we loved the special mushroom menu, overall, I absolutely love this place, also Ressio, Lali and Kopo yoga are my faves ??

We were staying at a resort and looking forward to going to the city to find some good vegan food. It was all amazing! I only wish we had more time to try more! It was delicious and we both loved it all!

The food was everything that I expected. I ordered Los Sopecitos ??. The ambience it's familiar to what you get in Tulum. Very nice place!

Loved our lunch at Corazón Contento as non-vegans / flexitarians. Honestly one of the meals I’ve had in Mexico and the people are so lovely! The sopecitos were delicious. They even had local kombucha. Highly recommend!
