This is not a joke: this was the best chicken I ever had in my entire life (and I am from Italy: here we know how to cook)!!! The chicken was extremly tender and juicy, with a tasty char on the skin. The service was super nice, they also allowed me to take a look at the chickens in the brazier. I would recommend this place to whoever is planning a trip in Playa Del Carmen. Il miglior pollo del mondo: andateci!!!

Chicken was delicious. I just wish they had some sides to go with it. They had rice and pickled onions with tortillas. So really would be great with maybe grilled veggies, or some other type of side or salad or something. It would be 10/10 if they did! But the chicken itself was good

Found this place on YouTube and walked 30 min to find it. I did it again two days later. The chicken is so well charred and seasoned, there is nothing better you will find for 150 pesos anywhere. This is where locals go. It’s not about the service or decor, just good food.

There's only two options to order from: a whole chicken or a half chicken. But that's all you'll need and they'll bring it out to you in less than 2 minutes, because they keep the chickens cooking constantly over the biggest grill you've ever seen in your life. You get a huge stack of tortillas or a plate of rice with it. Whatever you want. All for $5 for the half chicken or $8 for the whole. One of the best meals and deals you can get in Playa del Carmen. I lived in Playa del Carmen for 5 months last year and ate here multiple times a week. I just came back to PDC for a short trip and it was one of the first places I went.

Unbelievable chicken fresh hot and a great price. Limited menu but worth every penny. Drinks chicken, tortillas, rice, stewed tomatoes. Fantastic

When you need to let your wallet cool down a bit, head to Asadero el Pollo for lunch! At $90 Mxn for half a roasted chicken, or $170 Mxn for a whole roasted bird, you can't go wrong! Did I mention those prices include four sides? Well, I just did. The pollo is flavorful, the arroz is plentiful, and the other sides help fill up the handful of fresh corn tortillas that go with every meal. To go or to stay. Same price. Same friendly faces helping you out.

Great experience and fantastic chicken. The place is a no frills joint that does chicken and they do it well at an amazing price. We had the 1/2 chicken dinner and it was more than enough for the 2 of us and for 90 pesos one of the best deals in Playa. The service wasn't the friendliest around.

The chicken served here is top notch. You get tortillas and pickled onions with your order. The chicken is moist & grilled to perfection. One of my go-to restaurants, every time we're in PDC. Haven't found chicken back home that tastes better than Asadero El Pollo.

One of the first places I hit when I get to town! Hot, fresh, and quick service, I love the pickled onions too. I always order extra so I have leftovers at the condo. Reasonably-priced as well!

We visited this place in search of good and unexpensive food and were just overwhelmed by how great this place was. The portions (half a chicken or the whole bird for 90/140$ respectively) were giant and with onion, salsa and rice for free. No wonder the locals eat here as they simply know better. Just be warned that the joint closes at 6pm. Let the feast begin!!!

So economical dare I say down right cheap for an American. They now have a baked potato w/ crema it makes the meal COMPLETE so good! And 1 potato is definitely enough for 2 maybe even 3 people. And it’s not good because it’s cheap it’s good because the food is genuinely delicious.

Delicious ? Very fast and friendly service. Closed at six but they still let us in at 5:30. Inexpensive as well, you'll feed two or three people for 200 pesos.

Every time we have been in Playa we stop here at least once for a wonderful meal. Very tasty grilled chicken. You get a whole chicken with all the fixin's for less than $7USD. Pickled onions, flavored rice, salsa and tortillas. If you haven't been here get your butt in here you don't know what your missing!

A tasty grilled chicken, all the fixings, 130 MXD. Why say more. Eat in or take away. Restaurants / food vendors get so much better in Playa when you get a few blocks from 5th Avenue.
