The restaurant name has changed, they are called Mexicali now, almost missed it. We have eaten there several times over the years, when we come to visit Playa. It seems to still have the same menu. Our "every visit" order is their ceviche, fish or shrimps. It is quite good, and big enough for that "appetizer" to count as a whole meal. If you want it somewhat spicy (as I do), they have hot sauce there to add. The only issue was that they bring the chips long after the pico de gallo and hot sauce, with the main dish. Would be better brought out with the sauce? Overall, we still love it.

This was the first restaurant we went to in Playacar. We had the seafood platter for two. It was impressively big and delicious!! I would definitely recommend it if you have the ??

What a fun place. We had a great seat over looking 5th Avenue from the upstairs restaurant. The waitstaff are top notch and full of smiles and very accommodating. We particularly enjoyed the fresh guacamole being made tableside. Portions are large, hot and nicely seasoned. It was a positive experience.

This restaurant sits above 5th Avenue and is a great place to people watch, but we keep returning for the food. During the pandemic and street construction the restaurant has been closed but is now open again. There seafood platter for 2, which we get for 3 is awesome, lobsters are the highlight, but includes shrimp, mussels, calamari, crab and fish. The waiters were wonderful, bringing everything with a show. The guacamole made at your table is delicious. The service was excellent and very attentive. Very happy to see this restaurant back open again and highly recommend it

We were very sad to go to Los Rancheros this time It has been one of our favorite restaurants in the past. Apparently ownership has changed. The food was sub par and overpriced. Our favorite servers were gone and the new staff was disengaged. Attitudes could be because of the lack of business due to Covid. Disappointed!
