Very rude. Didn't want to take me in so they said it was closed an hour before their closing. Still had guests in. Awful waitress wouldn't event let me talk.
Had lunch twice here while visiting PdC. Excellent and tasty food, friendly staff, great presentation and average prices. Can only recommend!
Delicious seafood. Truly. A must! Try the ceviche de pescado. Staff is amazing and food portions are quite big. We ordered aguachile, ceviche de pescado, arroz a la marina, guacamole, pulpo. It was just way too much food but all amazing and tasty. For dessert try the brownie or the flan.
Exceptional value for your money. Fresh abd delicious fish and shrimps as well as amazing tostados. Good service. Really fair prices for Playa del Carmen. The restaurant was nearly full everytime we walked by. 50-50 mexicans and tourists.
Lovely food with attentive staff. The portions were very large and at very reasonable prices for fresh fish. Cocktails were also great.
Skip this place, far better places to eat un PDC. Came here for dinner because of all the reviews. Sad to say food and drinks are just okay. For $135 a cocktail I cant say they were overpriced but you definitely get what you paid for. The day we were here it was downpouring and they seemed to have no effective method of getting the water out of the ceiling (sun covers) other than making it pour on the floor and sweeping all the water across the floor to pour over the curb. Everything was WET to say the least!! No precaution due to wet floor and the fact its a pool of a floor to get to the restrooms. Food felt rushed, waiters constantly cleaning up our table wiping it down although everything was wet from the rain and WE WERE ALL STILLL EATING!! Felt like they wanted to rush us out of the establishment in a very passive and rude way even though we spent almost $200 dollars. Food and drinks were unreasonably slow given the establishment was not full by any means. Additionally, we requested help finding the number of a taxi company so that we would not have to walk in the pouring rain at 10pm. We were offered little to no help in getting a taxi (claimed they had no numbers they could provide and recommended a taxi app that did not work). Ended up having to leave walking in the rain only ro be stopped at the door to ask why we hadnt left a tip!! As if no tip was not self explanatory…..?? Just rude and distasteful just like their food.
Went her for dinner with friends while staying at a hotel nearby. A little off the strip so don't let the location fool you. We got there early but there was a line waiting when we left. Good service, great food!
Overall, really bad food. Friendly but knowledgeable or dishonest staff. If you are looking for a good seafood dinner, go somewhere else! We were very disappointed with the food and service here and didn't actually finish any of the plates we ordered. Though the service was quick and the staff very friendly, all of our questions we asked about the food ahead of time were answered by what we wanted to hear rather than with what we were actually going to get. Honesty would have gone a long way! We asked about what was fresh/local and we were told "everything". We listed a few things from the dishes we wanted to order and were again told that it was all fresh/local. Including the salmon (which can't be local because there are no salmon here). So we knew right away that we would have no idea what was actually going to be fresh (let alone local). I will say that the bacon wrapped shrimp were really good (hard to mess up anything bacon wrapped) but the cold mashed potatoes (out of the fridge cold) and other toppings were not great. The tuna (both the steak and hamburger) were just really bad (salty, really odd flavour, and didn't seem fresh at all), and the skewers (salmon, chicken, octopus and shrimp) were also pretty poor. The shrimp and octopus were ok (not great) and the salmon was really bad. To top it off (it's currently mango season and we've been eating amazing mangos), the mangos that came with the skewers were practically unedible! Even our 3 year old (who loves mangos) spit them out right away.
Chiltepin is an awesome joint for either casual couples' dinner or a family night out. This is what I dream of when I dream of Mexican seafood. The ceviches were lovely, and the pulpo a la brasa was particularly memorable. Friendly service, and hey...beware...the portions are generous. Look around at other tables to make sure you're not ordering for twenty!
This is my favourite spot to visit for lunch and dinner in Playa!!! The food is so tasty and affordable. My favourite dish is the avocado and shrimp appetizer dip!! Soooooo good. I also really loved the shrimp and fish tacos. I would highly recommend visiting :)

It was busy when we arrived, had to wait about 30 minutes to get seated. My husband ordered the octopus and I had the Chltepin Burger. Food was good, service was just so/so. I would go back, as a server can just have a bad day. Food was good so a second chance would be warranted!
My wife enjoyed her Coco camerones and I loved the Arroz a la Marinero. Her Margarita classico was huge and very good. Sergio, our waiter, was very attentive but not overly so and spoke perfect English which helped us a lot. On leaving, my wife didn't notice a step, tripped and fell into an couples table. I was in the washroom so didn't see this but the patrons at the table and all the staff rushed to her assistance. My deepest thanks to the lovely Mexican couple at that table for their concern and help and to the staff who made us feel at home. We will be back many times.
We are staying in a rental condo down the street. Our driver recommended Chiltepan and he is local. We've eaten there twice on our trip. Best authentic mexican food we've had on this trip! Cute atmosphere, reasonably priced and excellent food! Not fancy, can go in any attire. The tuna carnitas tacos are AMAZING! Will definitely go back the next time we are in Playa Del Carmen! This restaurant is a must!
Ordered online and order confirmed by email. Never delivered ! Emailed and no response. Called by phone and no answer. We have always had great food and experience but this time was terrible.
It was great to return to this fabulous place after so many years away because of the pandemic! As usual great food and service. Don't hesitate to come here :)
