The food was average, I've ordered fish on the grill and got fried fish, the margarita was without alcohol, burgher was below average and the bathroom was very dirty. Would not recommend.
Really cute, comfortable bar/grill run by a fun Frenchman David. Stop by and say hello to him! He has lots of cool stories!

Food was okay and very good price but again they bring you the bill and the tip is already included and they still stand next to you waiting for more…So embarrassing..
Great tasting Halal Mexican food. Decent prices. Have to ask for halal menu. Good English from servers. Will visit and recommend to friends
Good mexican food, nice and cozy atmosphere, cheap and tasty food & drink. The service is friendly and the food was ready in a few minutes. I would recommend!
We came here for 2 for 1 drinks and had margaritas. Wasn’t busy and staff was friendly. Only con is that you can’t share the 2 for 1 between two people. You each need to order 2 drinks. So if you’re thirsty it’s a great place.
Cute spot stopped for a drink when walking by. Cold beer and a good margarita. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and interesting decor.
We discovered this restaurant first day - after arriving to Playa del Carmen. It was coincidence - we did not know the city so explored street parallel up of 5th avenue and searched ambient place for dinner. Went there every day - to the end of our holiday. Food is very taste, restaurant is not expensive. Staff are very friendly.
Wow what an amazing cantina! Excellent service, so friendly! The food was phenomenal and cost was inexpensive ! 6 tacos and 2 beers came To $325 mexican pesos !

Food was great taste and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. While traditionally mexican, one night we ordered the ribs and the taste was excellent.
I went to El Ranchito last month with my friend. I kindly asked the waiter if they had any vegan options. He said no. I asked if he could make the vegetarian option without dairy (remove the cheese). He said no. I speak Spanish so he understood me perfectly. Obviously they have plant-based food in the kitchen and it would not be that hard to pull something together that doesn't have meat and dairy in it. Either the food here is all pre-made or the staff deliberately tries to not accomodate their customers. Either way, this isn't a place that I want to take my business.
Definitely budget friendly with low prices and good serving sizes, but food was short on flavor. Stick to the arrachera and carnitas tacos as the others were dry and less flavorful. Nice decor and service was excellent.
Very cheap with generous servings but underwhelming taste. They might be catering to US palates since the hot sauces all the restaurants here put on the table will normally be very spicy the sauces here were bland as was the food. If cost is your priority then this is the place to go but don't expect a gastronomical experience.
I almost didn’t complete a review. Didn’t want outsiders to know where it is. 5th Avenue gets all the press for the tourists. This place is only one block away, but a world away in quality. This IS is Mexican food. Not the stuff on 5th. Decor is old farming things (ranchito). Saddles and swings at the bar. As you can see in the numerous photos, the portions are huge. Our group of 5 ordered different entrees. All were excellent in taste, reasonable in price and large enough that everyone took some home. We’ll be back again. And again.
