Avoid! The restaurant only had a couple of tables occupied but the music was turned up to the sound of a disco! Far too loud. Ordered garlic fish fillets with special butter. The fish was over cooked and the salad was a couple of pieces of cucumber and some carrot! Poor quality meal, fish was very dry. Would not recommend

If you’re new to Playa and want to make friends, come to Buzo’s. Monday night is ‘Playa Bingo, Tuesday is quiz night and Wednesday is “Name That Tune” with DJ Jeff. Order from their extensive sea food menu or nibble from their snack menu. You’ll be welcomed with open arms!

This spot is away from the fifth ave in Playa, and offers more of a Mexican charm. It has great seafood, and the staff will go out of their way to prepare the meals just as you like them. You can enjoy the fresh fish, which is my partners favourite, cooked in garlic butter. I have a few favorites from the menu, including the steak tacos, and the camerones en amarado (like a prawn cocktail!) and the burger is also exceptional - fully loaded on a brioche bun. The place is not super fancy, but it's friendly and has lots going on for people to enjoy too.

Worth the +1h drive for the 'pulpo a la talla'! My absolute favorite seafood restaurant, nothing compares! The friendly and fast service, presentation of the plates and the taste is absolutely perfect. Worth every peso. The pulpo was so fresh, perfectly grilled and soft in the middle. Paired with a really fresh salad; quality ingredients, local and flavorful.

We had been to Buzo's for dinner a few times several years ago and it was OK - nothing memorable but our friends had never been there before. So we decided to go for dinner and live music. Music was great but dinner and service was not. There were 9 of us and it took over 30 minutes just to place a drink order and another 20 minutes before it arrived. After we ordered our food it took about an hour and we knew it was busy so we didn't complain but then when the meals arrived they were luke warm at best but we ate them anyway as we knew it would take forever to get them heated up. Two people had the paella and said it had very little seafood in it and was mainly rice and mini cocktail weiners. Other meals had sides of rice (very bland) and salad was shredded carrots and cucumber and no dressing and tasteless. They did not have enough servers and it seemed the ones they did have were more attentive to "regulars" that they knew. We couldn't find our server to place more drink orders so one fellow finally went up to the bar but they wouldn't let him order there and finally they found our server and sent him over. At least 30 minutes after we finished eating no one had come to clear the dishes from the table so we piled them up and took them back to the kitchen. Of course when it came time to leave our server showed up. So the experience was not very good. However we decided to give them another chance at dinner and live music again. Once again music was great but this time our drinks arrived an hour after we placed them and we were mainly ordering buckets of beer so can't get much easier than that. Obviously they don't open all the beers in the bucket at once but the server has the opener and he was no where to be found - they need to have screw caps - finally a lady at the table next to us loaned us her personal bottle opener (great idea that we will be bringing next year). Servers were once again catering to the "regulars" and we had to try and flag down our server when we wanted to order again as he never came back to ask about refills. When our meals arrived once again they were not very hot. One pasta dish was so loaded with oil and totally tasteless that my friend couldn't eat it and she told the server. He did send the manager over and he apologized and said the chef would make anything she wanted but by this time she had shared some of her husband's meal and she knew that none of us had enjoyed our meals so she declined his offer. Next year we said we may go back for the live music and hope the bar service has improved but we will eat dinner elsewhere before we go there as there are lots of good restaurants in PDC.

Well, when you google this place or review it, it get s alot of stars, so I went when I was in playa del carmen. It was the by far the worst experience I had while there. First, this place is a dump.. It looks like some place living off it's reputation of several years ago. It was also dead except for a dancing class that was going on. I was the only one eating. I came here for raw oysters. I asked if they had oysters right off, and he said yes, and pointed to a tank that probably had less than a dozen oysters in it. When I got my oysters, let's just say, they were basically empty shells. The meat was microscopic !!! I mean, no really. the meat was about the size of a dime inside !?!? pathetic. To top of the meal, the waiter never came back with my change, and tipped himself about 30%. DO NOT fall for the reviews or the stars like I did!!

Excellent Seafood and the best guacamole. I was at BUZO’s on several occasions tasting the grilled fish, ceviche, lobster, fish soup and lots more . The restaurant has many events with interesting speakers throughout the week as well as trivia nights, salsa lessons, rock’n roll & meet ups. It’s definitely a place you should visit. And the margaritas are tasty ?

I love to eat out, love to spend money, and I am always a generous tipper. That said, I will NEVER visit this place again. The experience itself wasn’t terrible and the food was decent but when the bill came I was shocked at what they charged us for ordinary drinks. Outlandish is an understatement. Absolutely disgraceful! Buyer beware!! Ask for prices before ordering any drink they may recommend.

Buzo's has everything you need to have an excellent relaxing dinner. The food is exceptional and service is the same. I highly recommend this restaurant. Get away from 5th Avenue tourist traps. Enjoy truly great cuisine at prices that are a fraction of those on 5th. Grab a cab and be there in just a few minutes. Everyone in your group will be happy and you will too.

I loooove Buzo's! I can't say it enough. This place is so underrated, but it is insanely good! We ate here probably about 5 or 6 times and every time tried a different plate: Ceviche Caribeño, Ceviche Acapulco, Paella Buzo's, Tacos de pescado, Pescadillas, and Huachinango, which is one of the most delicious fish plates I've ever had! Our last time here we were served by Jaime, who was gracious, attentive, and a wonderful server. They have tanks with fresh seafood to choose, place is open and clean, and a very relaxed atmosphere. ¡Gracias a todos los chefs por alimentarme hasta el alma con esa comida deliciosa!
