Tacos Break at Vidanta Riviera Maya

Outstanding. Dealt with difficult food allergies wonderfully. Everyone in our large party was very happy and all enjoyed their meal and drinks! If ever return to Riviera Maya will absolutely go to La Cantina!

Everything was excellent. All of the salsas served with the different types of chips were flavorful and a pleasant surprise. We had ceviche and it was delicious too, as was the octopus. My margaritas were good. The only minor complaint my husband had is that he felt his Pinot gringo by the glass was overpriced for the quality of the wine. I told him he should look at the wine list next time. :) Our waiter Ivan was great. We sat outside, in the little covered area next to the sand and it was absolutely gorgeous. We will return on this trip and future trips.

Unfortunately, food was slow, weird and cold. Loved a few of the other restaurants at Vidanta River Maya, but La Cantina was not good. As for weird, they had crickets and worms on the menu...which maybe works for some. If not for you, the rest of the food wasn't much better. Lots of other choices though.

The outside seating area was great for our nights dining. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees but could have gotten away with 1. The shrimp tacos were filled with plenty of shrimp and 3 of them would have been perfect for the two of us. The chicken fajitas are great and again enough for 2.

I ordered the fish that was overcooked. I did eat the sides and a few bites of the fish. The server took my dish back and the manager came and offered a replacement. I no longer wanted to wait for another order and would have accepted a partial reduction for my meal or some other form compensation. The manager was not willing to provide anything accept an apology.Not the customer service I expected from this resort.

Overspill area felt distant from restaurant and right next to hammocks which was essentially a very loud child's playground with zero parents. Very noisy (couldn't hold a conversation without interruption) & made your head spin as the hammocks were used as swings. We asked to move tables, which was eventually granted when we moved ourselves to stand next to bar. Inside was very lively, service staff friendly. Food & drinks mostly good - think chain restaurant quality of food. Manager made us feel small when we asked to move tables. When we said it was not a cheap restaurant & we didn't want to sit in a playground. He explained that it was a family friendly resort and there were more expensive restaurants available nearby if that was what we were after. A very odd comment as we were clearly a family with children. No we won't be back.

First we were given a table under the air conditioner. It was freezing. The noise from the bar music was so loud we could hear each other. We asked to move. We were put on the terrace. It was pitch black. We couldn't see the menu or or food. W e got water then no waiter for 20 minutes Would never go there again

I wouldn't know about the quality, ambience, etc since we never got to go into the restaurant. Even though we had a reservation, they canceled it for a special event without letting us know. It was very nice to go to the restaurant at 6:30 for our dinner reservation on a busy night at the resort to be told oops sorry you can't come in because we are having a special dinner event. Why wouldn't you let us know? “Well you made the reservation on open table and we only let those folks know who made the reservation through the hotel”. So the 4 of us were left to figure out where to find another restaurant on our last night at Vidanta.

The hostess and maitre d made ys feel so welcomed upon our arrival and went out of their way to accommodate my husband's mobility needs. The manager is outstanding and every time we dine at La Cantina he is always interested in how our dining experience is and takes great care to ensure we are satisfied. We love La Cantina because we're always assured of a wide variety of menu selections and great food. We dine here regularly throughout our four month stay at Vidanta. Thank you for every opportunity to enjoy our visits at this restaurant!

Vidanta set the tone for our vacation with La Cantina! We ate here on our first night and all I can say is WOW! Food was amazing and the service was great. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was my drink - but that was for my personal taste, as my boyfriend thought it was great. Overall amazing experience and great place to start our vacation!

Can't believe we have missed this restaurant the last 3 times we have been there! It was fabulous! Food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. Service was truly outstanding! 100 stars!

This was our second time to LaCantina, and again they knocked it out of the park... when we come back next year this will be our first Reservation for sure.. service is great and very professional with charm and personality. Food is exceptional.. you will not be disappointed!! We had outside seating and it was so enjoyable we tell everyone. Just go!!!

Did not exist. The website and restaurants are very limited, and several of them do not exist on the property as confirmed by the concierge.

You can miss this one. Being in Mexico and want to experience a original Taco, go for this one. And the menu goes farther than Tacos, with very good prices!
