Excellent food and fabulous service at the location on 38 and flamingos. My adult children wanted to eat here more than once because of the quality of food and exceptional service. They have live music every night and attempt to be mindful of volume so that it's not too loud. They have great 2 for 1 drink deals on margaritas as well. Everyone in our party loved the complementary dessert shot that was passed out at the end of the meal (and was likely the real reason everyone wanted to go back). Highly recommend.

We arrived for cancer awareness brunch and we were surprised to see the establishment decorated in pink including staffers Food was awesome, I had eggs Benedict Live music for brunch was very fun

They said they did not have our reservation We were told to have a seat at the bar...we sat there for 1/2 hour...I asked about a table..we were seated about 15 mins later.....we sat at the table with no menus for another 15 minutes.....after 1 hour and 15 mins we left Very very poor service

The restaurant is on a beautiful street & the ambience is very Playa del Carmen... much enjoyed that part. The service was fantastic! But the food was lacking. The coconut shrimp did not taste fresh, more of a frozen, pre-breaded vibe. The fajitas had hardly any meat, it was mainly onions & peppers. The surf & turf was super mid & the calamari did not taste fresh. I was very excited to eat here based on the reviews online, however I was greatly disappointed in the food. The service was very good & they had live music, which was really nice! I would try it again, maybe it was ok “off” night for them.

Don't miss it when you are in playa del Carmen. Best fajita I've ever had in my entire life and my wife said the same of her enchiladas rojas. Great drinks as well and all at a solid price. Live music was a huge bonus!

We truly enjoyed our meal at La Vagabunda de la 38. The drinks were an amazing start to our delicious meal. Live music was an added bonus. It was pouring rain but we stayed dry and happy! Highly recommend this restaurant! Our waiter Carlo went above and beyond with service and even went out in the pouring rain to find us an SUV taxi for our group! Thank you Carlo!!!

I booked this reservation because of the tapas and flamenco night. When I arrived, there was a singer doing covers of 80s music. The singer changed eventually but the music did not. There were no Spanish tapas as mentioned in the reservation and the food wasn't on the level I expected from a highly rated place. The staff were nice but they got our order wrong. (No big deal, it happens). Overall I would not recommend this place. There are plenty of other options in Playa and on 38th street.

The food is getting better and better. I was very impressed this visit as was my husband and the other couple with us. There is always a lively ambiance as La Vagabunda has a wonderful line-up of musicians, dance classes, trivia and other activities to add fun to your evening. Great place - very well managed.
Amazing restaurant with live music. Food was delicious and service was top notch. Average price for downtown playa (which all seem a bit pricey for what you get but like all they are trying to recover from pandemic and stay open). Was so much fun dancing here also. Went back a few times just for the music, dancing and dinner. Will always go back when in the area
The restaurant is a tourist trap. The food is not mexican or caribbean, you can order the same food and tastier in London or NY. The music was Cubban, good one however why not mexican?

Buscamos un restaurante con comida española y en internet salió La Vagabunda. Realmente solo tienen tapas en lo q a comida española se refiere. Teníamos reservación y a la mera hora acondicionaron una mesa. Servicio lento. Los sentí mal organizados. Llego primero, después de una hora el plato fuerte y después las entradas. La comida no nos gusto.

Great place to kick back, listen to some music, enjoy a really good margarita & eat a delicious hamburger. I don't usually eat burgers in Mexico but the server recommended it & I'm glad I listened! The service was outstanding & we really enjoyed listening to the music!
