We ordered a burger medium because one of us has digestive issues with undercooked beef. We received it was undercooked. They re heated it and it was still slightly undercooked and we were charged for it. The flavor of the other dishes was mid. We dined at Edition and St Regis restaurants and ITZAM was by far the worst meal we had and the most expensive.Though it was the most crowded restaurant we had been to over the 4 days we have been on property. Wouldn't recommend for food but very lively atmosphere.

Had such a wonderful experience at ITZAM with OSCAR SOSA - he was attentive and timely with service. His recommendations were also exactly what we were looking for - THANK YOU!

Neglectful service ! Poor knowledge and sharing of menu. The worst rectangle shaped firm block of chicken. I was here last year - very disappointed this year Will not go back .

We had dinner at Itzam on the second night of our visit to Kanai (we are staying at the St. Regis next door). It was very easy to get from the St. Regis to the Etereo Hotel where Itzam is located via a short golf cart ride. The staff at the restaurant were very welcoming upon our arrival and the restaurant had a great, warm and cozy ambiance, as well as the hotel overall. We started our meal with a cocktail and then decided on the Tasting Menu with the wine pairing which gave us a good tour of the overall menu. The food, wines and service were spectacular (our server was Juan with a team of others making everything come together of course). Lots of different and flavorful tastes and ample portions - I could probably eat the Tuna Taco and Tamales for the rest of my life and be happy We left very happy with our visit and would highly recommend getting the Tasting Menu with the wine pairing. While not an inexpensive menu choice, it was certainly a good value for the quality, flavors and diversity of the items and portions.

Beautiful restaurant, very friendly staff. Unfortunately my husband and I got extremely sick within 2 hours of eating at the restaurant. We can not figure out what made us so sick, since we had entirely different meals. We did have butter on our bread and the chocolate ice cream. An expensive dinner that ended horribly!

We stayed at the St Regis and came over to Itzam for diner and we are glad we did. The ambiance was quiet and romantic. It had a southwestern feel to it but also very classy. Our waiter George was great. We were not sure what to order but he made the perfect selections. My wife and I shared the shrimp as an appetizer and had the octopus and the fish of the day. It was the best meal we had during our whole trip. I highly recommend going there if you have the opportunity.

Poor rating is based primarily on food. The restaurant is lovely and the staff was friendly and attentive. But our ribeye was grey all the way through (microwave?) and the mashed potatoes were more of a puree served with lettuce on top. Very disappointing.

Our favorite meal of our trip! Everything was delicious and there was so much! Service was exceptional. We did the cena de abuela special menu. We loved hearing the methods of cooking and how special each dish was to the culture of the area. Absolutely would recommend !

Extremely slow service, all tables were not happy. Disappointing considering that the food is good and the place is beautiful. However when you get an appetizer an hour after sitting, and not one server in site (although there are many that just seem to be running around) to ask about the actual meal two hours into it and maybe get another drink, the experience is one that leaves you with a sour taste.

The food and ambiance was absolutely stunning! I was visiting Etéreo from another resort and just being able to look out to a view from the restaurant was also in awe of itself. Itzam is definitely contributing to the idea of staying at etéreo next time. I can't imagine what the other restaurants have to offer. My only complaint however was the service. Our server didn't seem to know much about the menu and couldn't really answer for any of the dishes. When asked what was in the tasting menu he was clueless as to what was in it and he seemed like he was under a good amount of stress. We also asked about an ingredient within the burger which was the chili as stated per the menu and asked for that not to be in the burger. He then continues to look at us and the menu and states that he didn't even know that was on the burger. That is my only complaint.

Everything about this restaurant was magnificent except for a very boisterous crowd that enjoyed talking at the top of their lungs but other than that, it was fantastic.

The food was not good. We all left very disappointment with the overall experience and spent so much money for a very bad food.

One of our best meals in the area. A wonderful mix of Mexican inspired cuisine. Portion sizes were good - easily sharable for both the appetizers and main courses. Wonderful ambiance as well. Get there at six to enjoy late afternoon light and sunset - you will not be rushed. But be clear about the table location you want (outdoor or indoor) when you book to avoid disappointment. Would return!
