Our chef was called Julian, he was friendly, on time and professional. The food was great and really went presented. Very reasonably priced!! We were stuffed and also had mimosas and sparklers.

He did such an amazing job our whole wedding and even before.I did not have a wedding planning but he acted as if he were mine and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Luis even made an appointment when the venue to plan where everything would go and set up while I was in another country.I had an original quote for 50 people but only had 34 attend. And at this point I wanted Luis to keep the extra for his team’s and his hard work.I appreciate everything you helped with and can’t recommend them enough! I found Catering Tulum online and decided to give them a try. From the very beginning they were amazing. They offered ideas for food and different options for entertainment. We had rented a condo, but didn’t know where to go for food or alcohol so they took care of it all. We had an amazing taco bar, tequila tasting, and even a mariachi band. It was a great party, and much of the success was due to the help we got from Catering Tulum.

I communicated with them for months leading up to the event and they were always extremely responsive and easy to organize with.The food was amazing! We were in shock with how much food they made. My sister is a vegan and they made sure to alter dishes for her to enjoy as well.I did reach out to someone on Instagram who tagged catering tulum in a photo to ask about their experience and they provided glowing reviews as well.

We hired this company and their DJ for our wedding and we could not be more disappointed. They have a great presence on Instagram so we thought we’d receive the same excellent service that they post about however that wasn’t the case. They were late, we didn’t receive the correct menu items, they served cold tacos, and communicated as little as possible. Their ‘all inclusive’ wedding package states you get to rent rectangular or circular tables and a wooden bar — for the bar they brought a lopsided folding table and put a random blue sheet over top and the day before they said they only had two rectangular tables so that’s what we got (when we requested 5 circular tables). An “open bar” means they’ll serve mixed drinks with very little alcohol and when it runs out they’ll go into your fridge and serve your own alcohol. Not to mention the MESS that they left. There were spills and splatters all over the kitchen, and they left all the alcohol bottles and trash on top of/around the table they brought for the bar. Also, even after tipping over $400 usd the night of our wedding, I’m STILL waiting for a refund on a fruit tray that we didn’t get 6 weeks later. To summarize: they have a great marketing/social media team, and horrible customer service—Don’t book them for your events.

The food, service and energy from the chef and bartender was all amazing. The shrimp tacos, the enchiladas and the fish were all great options. They will take care of you. We booked one day before and everything was perfect. The mojitos had so much flavor we were poured two rounds. You will not run out of food, if you are thinking about going elsewhere, don't! DO NOT BOOK THIS CATERING COMPANY FOR YOUR WEDDING!!!As someone who was looking for a super positive experience on our wedding day I urge you to look elsewhere!!This caterer was recommended to us by our wedding planner and while maybe his service was great back in the day- things have clearly changed!Money: Originally we invited about 60 people to our wedding, but being a destination wedding- only 35 showed up. The quote given was for more people which showed up- which is fine- but the agreement was that 3 weeks before the wedding, when we gave the final count, Luis would refund the extra plates we paid for. This comes out to almost 2,000.00. He now continues to avoid our WhatsApp messages and PayPal requests to return the money. We have given him almost 2 months before posting this review to provide a refund and still nothing.Communication: The caterer was hard to communicate with from the get-go. Missing scheduled calls was the norm. When we were finally able to talk he would confirm our requests and confirm the changes made to the menu- but completely reverted back on the actual day of our wedding.For example: Months ahead of our wedding we requested a specific cake flavor and filling and he confirmed multiple times- but the day of the wedding the cake was completely wrong.Service: For the cost of the catering, I would say the service was below par. One of our menu options was a ribeye- which was to be cooked medium rare. All of the guests who ordered the rib eye ended up leaving most of it on the plate because they were all cooked well done. Another menu option we picked was lobster served with a garlic butter, but the lobster was served without garlic butter. These things as well as having to remind the waiters to constantly refill everyone's waters- as it was over 90+ degrees outside didn't make for a great experience.Overall- if you're looking for good quality, good customer service, and a good experience- you should look else where.
