Layla Boutique Hotel in Tulum exceeded all my expectations! The rooftop pool with stunning sunset views was a highlight of my stay. The hotel's restaurant served delectable dishes, and the overall ambiance was simply delightful. If you're looking for a memorable Tulum experience, don't miss out on Layla!
This was a 5-day, 4-night solo getaway and my first time in Tulum. I truly appreciated the care and communication from the Layla team even before I arrived- transportation arrangements from Cancun, checking in about flight arrival times, WhatsApp messages once my flight landed - I felt well taken care of and once I arrived at the hotel, Elena and her team kept up that high bar. The hotel is small and lovely, low key without sacrificing hospitality or quality - the room decor, the meals at the rooftop burger bar (the lamb burger!!!!!), the cleanliness and the attention to detail each time the room was cleaned. I was in Room # 10. Elena made great recommendations for dinner at restaurants within walking distance, but by far her best tip was to get a massage right next door at Flora spa. It’s a WHOLE experience. I booked three massages while I was here. Now Layla is in Tulum Center so easy walking or bike rentals to get around the city. The hotel doesn’t have a shuttle, so there are choices to get to the Hotel Zone where the beaches are: 35-40 minute bike ride, taxi (approx $60 US round trip) or you can do what I did - travel like the locals who are hopping onto the Collectivo bus to go to and from work for 20 Pesos each way. Lots more room in the mornings than in the afternoons and a lot more crowded at the end of the work day, but you can’t beat the price and it was a 20-minute ride. I had a lovely stay and coming back to the cool, VERY comfortable bed and fluffy pillows at the end of a day out was magic.
Very nice boutique, friendly people delicious food and excellent location far from all the noise. The staff was very helpful in deciding the activities. Highly recommended for 2 to 4 nights at. tulum
Loved the place, an absolute gem in Tulum with really nice moroccan vibes! Food was very well served and cocktails were also good although on the pricey side. $500mxn minimum consumption per person.

Lovely, small hotel. Very attentive, friendly staff. Super service. Fabulous rooftop pool, very cold! Not overly busy. On the two occasions where we had to get up early to go on guided tours, breakfast was prepared for us in take out boxes and put in fridge ready for us. Two possible points for improvement? Breakfast was included on our stay, which included orange juice and tea/coffee. I don't drink orange juice but love coffee. Maybe I could have had a second coffee instead of the orange juice? I had to pay for my additional coffees! Secondly, there is no private outdoor area. You can only sit outside on the roof. Not really an issue except after an early evening shower and hair drying in the sun ?♀️ I'm just being picky - I would strongly recommend.
They must have opened recently and that's why there isnt loads of reviews, cs the food is absolutely delicious. Best burgers I had in a long time!

We stayed for two nights and opted for a room on the group floor next to the pool. We really like how spacious the bathroom was. I was worried about the noise but the sound proofing works well and we didn't hear any sounds from the outside. Walking it the hotel is beautiful, the pool on the bottom floor and the pool with bar on top really gives you a middle eastern vibe but it's a very laid back energy which I appreciated. The food and drink quality was great. I would recommend it as it is close to downtown Tulum and we liked the adult only aspect. Everyone was nice and friendly as far as staff.
We ordered delivery from the restaurant. The vegetarian dishes were great, however the tuna burger was far from what was expected.Looking and tasting like a beef burger, served to a pescatarian. We contacted the restaurant, however they insisted it’s tuna and not meat.If this is correct, they somehow made a delicious fish turn into beef consistency, texture and flavor.Such a shame.Sadly, the food ended in the bin, as the restaurant wouldn’t take responsibility for it.
I always prefer boutique hotels over major chains. This is definitely one that I would highly recommend. Adorable. Perfect location. Great rooftop pool. Awesome food. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Hope you enjoy as much as I did
Wow. Big selection of wines, real middle eastern taste. Absolutely unique burgers ❤️ meat lovers and kabab are my favorites so far. Nice atmosphere as well

I was visiting Tulum for the 3d time, with the sole purpose to dive some cenotes. Due to short stay (2 nights), poor weather and sargossa on the beach I decided to stay in Tulum town, not in the beach area as on my previous visits. The hotel is well run, with a good location (For Tulum town that is, see below) in a quiet street. Décor is beautiful, a stylish mix of marrocan and Mexican. It works for me. I was in room 8, with a rope bed in the middle of the room, suspended from the ceiling, a gimmick I did not like as it is not possible to sit on the bed as you can’t rest your back against a wall. When you move in bed, the whole bed moves, I imagine that two persons in the bed could be both fun but also a little difficult. If you know what I mean….. The rooftop pool is very nice and allows a simple menu of burgers and snacks, due to heavy rain I had to eat at the hotel for both lunch and dinner. I would have preferred to eat only once as options are very limited. Breakfast is nice, simple but well prepared. Would I recommend, yes, for a short stay. However, I fail to understand why anybody would chose Tulum town over the beach area as the town in itself in of limited interest. Suggestions, stop the insistent background music, the non-stop trance beats do not do anything good for the ambiance of the hotel. If you want to continue, please change the songs more often.
Really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Layla. The hotel is small and intimate with a Moroccan inspired design in the middle of town close to many good bars and restaurants. There is a great rooftop pool and bar. The staff could not have been more helpful with suggesting and booking restaurants and activities.
Just came back from a really enjoyable 5 night stay at Layla. Firstly it is really well located if you’re staying in Tulum town. We had a rental car so parked right outside and drove to the sights and cenotes during the day (and the beach area). The pool is an amazing spot for a swim, food or cocktails. We ate breakfast up there each day ( included in our rate. ) I tried a couple of options from the menu and both were delicious. I saw others having it in their rooms or the ground floor restaurant area. I often had the pool to myself but even when it’s busy later in the afternoon, there were always places to sit. The main thing I noticed is how helpful and friendly the staff are and how amazingly clean and well maintained the hotel is. I wasn’t a huge fan of the swinging bed in our room (not all have this) but it looked amazing and i loved our bathroom. I think the rooms might feel small to guests who are used to larger hotel rooms but it didn’t bother us. My only slight negative comment is that you might hear music in the bedroom at some points, but it’s because noise echos through the hotel. (I called reception to turn it down one night which was done immediately but only because I had a very early start the next day) Overall, I really really enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend it to anyone coming to stay in Tulum town.
We loved Layla and found the vibes perfect for our recent birthday visit. Others have mentioned Daniel at the front desk and he's a gem. He's warm and gracious -- and provides a level of care that is more typically of a five-star property. But the entire staff is kind and efficient. The roof pool is perfect and the rooms have unique features. For the price, I don't think you'll do any better. There are lots of vlog posts about staying at the beach vs. town. We really liked the vibes in town and getting to the beach is super easy with a scooter or bike. Some other nearby tips: (1) Jaguar Negro Tulum is around the corner and it the best coffee shop around, (2) Evolve Fitness is up the street and is a great spot to work out, (3) Akuma Tiger Sushi is nearby and is chic AF. Thanks again to Daniel and everyone at Layla for making my recent Bday stay so special.
We loved our stay in Layla Tulum. Everything was perfect: the room was beautiful, breakfast was delicious and the location is superb. Just a few minutes walk and you are on the main road of Tulum centre. From there, it's very easy to take a collectivo (mini bus) to cenotes between Tulum and Playa, to Akumal beach or even straight to Playa itself. Restaurants are also close. You have to try the burgers on Layla's top floor restaurant - they are delicious!! Also bike rental places (like OlaBike) are close by and you can bike your way into the beach. What made our stay the most perfect was Daniel in the front desk. He was always so kind and helpful. He gave the best tips and also was genuinely interested on your plans. We loved him!! Also the restaurant staff was the most welcoming and kind. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem!
