The place is super warm like any Mexican cuisine and that is appreciated. The prices are not high and it is worth it because they serve you very well. Yes, I highly recommend it!
Tulum’s hidden gem. Delicious cheese empanadas and the best michelada you can find in Tulum. Also, great coffee! If you want to experience a different side of Tulum, and try some deliciuos homemade food - you have to visit Maria’s.
If you're looking for the absolute best homemade Empanadas, Tortas, whatever your heart desires and want to avoid the tourist traps, then this humble little gem is your dream come true!Maria and her lovely family are a lovely bunch, and will make sure you're 100$ satisfied with your meal!Case in point, the empanadas de queso and Carne molida were the most picture perfect, golden-brown crispy little delights I think I've ever seen. And the coffee? Oh my God, it was so rich in flavor and made by hand rather than with a machine. So if you want to avoid the greasy street food and help a humble and kind family at the same time, this is your place!
