Quick dinner presto... my hotel does not have a restaurant. The children wanted to end their trip with a visit to McDonald's. Friendly branch due for renovation if I look at the new dining room designs. Few branches have stairs to access the restaurant. Meeethank you!

I have realistic expectations for any McDonald’s. It’s cheap, it’s busy, and you get what you pay for…totally fair. But when items are barely wrapped and just tossed into the bag, boxes of cold fries turned upside down, and food missing the standard toppings, even for cheap fast food it seems like a total waste of money. But the worst part was that it was one of the filthiest McDonald’s (or any fast food restaurants) I’ve ever seen. The lobby, the washrooms (which looks like they may have actually never ever been attended to), the overflowing garbage cans..all when there appeared to be plenty of extra staff during a not very busy period at night. I won’t write a bad review when someone screws up - people make mistakes..it’s fine. But when a place like this seemingly has a lot of issues going on, it’s probably worth warning others. Ray Kroc would be ashamed!

A Gastronomic Journey at McDonald’s in Edmunston, New Brunswick – Featuring John and His Majestic Hair ???

Ah, McDonald's—the golden arches that promise comfort, consistency, and calories. But let me tell you, the McDonald's in Edmunston, New Brunswick, is no ordinary fast-food joint. It’s a culinary odyssey, a whirlwind of flavor, and, most importantly, it’s home to John—the man, the myth, the legend, and his unforgettable hair.

Let’s dive right in, starting with the star of any McDonald’s experience: the fries. These are not just fries; these are golden sticks of pure joy. The fries at the Edmunston McDonald's are so perfectly crispy that they practically shatter upon contact with your teeth, sending a flurry of salty, potato-y goodness directly to your brain’s pleasure center. I’m convinced they have a secret fry whisperer in the back who coaxes each potato into achieving its peak performance. And then there’s the salt—just the right amount to keep you reaching back into that paper bag like it holds the secrets of the universe.

Now, let’s talk Big Mac. This towering titan of fast food is everything you want it to be and more. The buns are soft and slightly sweet, cradling the two beef patties like they’re precious cargo. The patties themselves—juicy, flavorful, and charred just enough to make you forget that this is, in fact, fast food and not some gourmet creation from a Michelin-starred chef. And the sauce! The special sauce is like liquid gold, a magical concoction that elevates the entire experience from “pretty good” to “I think I just heard angels sing.” Every bite is a perfect balance of meat, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and onions, all working together in a symphony of flavors that can only be described as a Big Mac aria.

But no meal at this Edmunston McDonald’s would be complete without the pièce de résistance: the fountain Diet Coke. I don’t know what kind of wizardry is happening with their soda machine, but this Diet Coke is next-level. The carbonation is so perfectly tuned that it dances on your tongue like a fizzy little ballet. It’s crisp, it’s refreshing, and it’s cold enough to make you feel alive again, even after a long day on the Trans-Canada Highway. This isn’t just Diet Coke; this is the nectar of the fast-food gods.

Now, I must give a special shout-out to the man who made this experience truly unforgettable: John, the server with the hair that defies logic and gravity. John greeted me with a smile that could melt the polar ice caps, but I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by his hair. It was a true work of art, a chaotic masterpiece that seemed to have a life of its own. Was it styled that way on purpose? Was it the result of a wild windstorm? Did he lose a bet? The world may never know. But one thing is certain—John’s hair is as memorable as the Big Mac, and I mean that as the highest compliment.

As John handed me my bag of food, his hair seemed to wave in acknowledgment, as if it knew we were both about to embark on a journey of culinary bliss. And let me tell you, John was efficient—despite what must have been the daily battle with his hair, he had my order ready in record time. A true professional.

In conclusion, the McDonald's in Edmunston, New Brunswick, isn’t just a place to grab a quick bite—it’s an experience. From the world-class fries to the life-changing Big Mac, to the fountain Diet Coke that belongs in a museum, every moment was pure, unadulterated fast-food joy. And John, with his extraordinary hair, was the cherry on top of this deliciously bizarre sundae. If you ever find yourself in Edmunston, do yourself a favor and visit this McDonald’s. Your taste buds will thank you. ????
