Had donair, it was very half ass for the price. I could have done better, salad was terrible, and the beef burger very small

Took over an hour to get food even though it wasn't busy or a full restaurant. We weren't asked if the food was good. Wasn't thanked for coming, eating here or for the service. Food was tasty and the quaint atmosphere was cute however very unprofessional and staff lacked knowledge about their own food. Two teenagers, one in the kitchen, one as a waiter. Seen another couple before us wait at least 45 minutes to get food... and a table of 6 be told 20 minutes after ordering that some of the things they ordered weren't available...sorry Elgin, put another staff, maybe an adult on shift to monitor and teach the younger ones what to do/what to know. Very poor experience despite good food. Hopefully if their's a next time it will be better as I grew up coming here with family and friends and it was always a pleasant experience, faster service and experienced staff/cooks.

seemingly in the middle of nowhere, though most worthy venture to find this lil’ gem. locally sourced meat and friendliness. looking forward to another visit.

Me and my husband has been there to have supper one evening it was great the staff was great the place was very clean we loved it there and we will be back it was fantastic so I had a friend and I plan on going on the 31 of may to play some music I know when I lived up there on Hamilton Road there was a lot of seniors that can’t get out to places to hear music so that’s when I decided to come there. It may be easier for them to get there than any place else and it’s in the evenings so they will still be able to go back home before dark.any way elgin is a great place I had a grandfather that first settled in Elgin generations back mind you, but it was still a grandfather of mine that first settled in Elgin. I’ve got a lot of history from Elgin and I will keep going back. I have a son that lives there in Elgin now it’s just a great place to be and everybody there is so polite and nice when you’re there .

Unfortunately, we had a very poor food experience here at the Elgin Country Kitchen.Our meals were cooked from frozen and we could hear the microwave being used multiple times. Each dish had a "leftover" taste while smelling "overcooked" from the microwave. I had the brisket sandwich that came on a stale bun, awkwardly cold/warm meat, and no flavour whatsoever. It was hands down the worst meal I've ever had in a diner.We were the only ones in the restaurant and never got approached to see how things were or if they could get us anything else. This made us feel as if the waitress/cook even knew that the meals were sub-par and didn't want any conflict.Provided that there isn't any other spots in the community to eat the prices reflect that. Each of our dishes were more expensive than what you would get at a well known established pub in any Maritime city.The store certainly reminds you of an old town feel. Cozy and comfortable. Everything looked to be clean and organized. The waitress/cook was also friendly. It's just a shame that the food was as bad as it was.I'm all about supporting local businesses, but this one gets a thumbs down.

Recently came here for lunch. Located in Elgin and NOT Port Elgin. Staff members were very friendly and welcoming. We had the poutine and burger which was great! Highly recommended!

Never disappointed. We discovered this little gem four or five years ago purely by accident. Now we make yearly pilgrimages whenever we are camping in Fundy. Everything very tasty and well worth the reasonable prices. Shirley is the best person to shoot the breeze with too if she isn't hopping from tables and kitchen.

Very cozy country style store with dinne inn. Ordered a beef brisket poutine. Did not disappoint! Fast and friendly service. Prices are average range canteen style menu with local products. Would recommend the stop if driving through.
