We were told about Exit 153 and decided to stop on our way back to Fredericton. My partner ordered the fish and chips from the Favorite’s section and I had the burger. The burger was both of our favorite part of the meal. Kieran was an absolute sweetheart and took great care of us. We’ve decided that it will ritual to stop at Exit 153 whenever we pass through. ?
I was really impressed with the dish I had which was the scallops, they were a good size and juicy. The assortment of veggies was perfectly cooked and so tasty - the chef there really could work in a Michelin restaurant based on what I had. My husband had the butter chicken and liked it. Breakfast the next morning was also good. Looking forward to our next drive through New Brunswick and will definitely stop there.
lovely people who make awesome food!
I just discovered your Local Heirloom white bread loaf! As a lifelong cereal scientist studying wheat and bread making qualities, I must say this white loaf is one of the best I have ever experienced globally, hands down! Yours is a world-class Classic English White Loaf with perfect crust and wondrous loaf interior. Each thick slice is airy, puffy, white-as-snow, yet chewy. Not so much glutinous as it is incredibly visco-elastic. Call it a cumulus cloud straight out of the oven. And when toasted, further transformative! Nature may have given New Brunswick fiddleheads, but history, Heritage and folklore have now given us all another authentic heirloom – the Woodstock Loaf. Through their forebearers working at Karnes and then at Canada Bread, Baker Andy is now using heirloom recipes for creating these miraculous leavened loaves. History lives on through their traditional honing of the past’s riches, and their eager entrepreneurial energies. I’m enjoying Andy’s bread each morning toasted, to die for! Thank you for this international level of artisanal craftsmanship - there is true inventive creativity fermenting in Woodstock.
This spot was a culinary delight a couple of years ago. Not sure what happened to Chef Mike. Someone said he has retired. Too bad the new cook is nowhere near the caliber of Chef Mike. Oh well, We'll go to Woodstock now. Nice try, new guy, but no thanks.
We have NEVER experienced such tasty and well prepared food.Such a cut above any "normal"breakfast. The staff were exceptional/friendly.Highly recommend to anyone passing by.Can't wait until next year when we travel back that way again.Peter G.Phillips,MD.
Great service and friendly staff. Large selection of dishes at reasonable prices. We stayed two nights at the hotel so our full breakfasts were included. Delicious with generous servings. We had supper one night which was also very tasty. Tip......make reservations. This spot is very popular.
We stopped at this restaurant on our way back to Fredericton. We were pleasantly surprised at the decor and the cleanliness of this place. What a little gem! The food was very tasty and well presented. My husband had the special burger for their burger contest. Very tasty! I had the fish burger and fries! Very tasty as well. I would highly recommend you stop in and give it a try as the service was great besides the price and everything else.
I am very impressed with the food at the 153 restaurant and would recommend them to anyone that has a flair for good food. The food is top notch and my entire experience last evening for supper was awesome. Melissa was our host and was very professional and did an excellent job and made us feel so welcome and comfortable that we are back already for an early supper before heading to Ontario. Keep up the amazing job and we need places like this in New Brunswick.
Traveling north in January, Exit 153 Restaurant was a pleasant stop just off the Trans Canada highway. Friendly staff and yummy food. Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Fish Sandwich with fries......and a tub of gravy. Hot tea served in the cutest pottery set.

Had a great meal here, truly a nice find right off the THC. The food was a bit of a wait, not nearly what some other have commented, but worth it. Was very pleased with the service, portions sizes, and the price. Would not hesitate to return when in the area.
Sandwich, chowder and pad Thai excellent. Fast attentive service. Worth a trip to go there. Outstanding fresh made breads.
I ate dinner and breakfast at Exit 153. For dinner, I had a spinach salad with blueberries and a great dressing and a ham and potato soup. Both. were wonderful. Lolo was my waitress and she was very friendly and helpful. It didn't take long for my meal to arrive, in spite of the fact that it seemed to be a very busy Wednesday night. For breakfast, I had two poached eggs, toast, bacon and home fries. Again, delicious, the bread was brown and homemade, made just the way I like it. The hotel gives you a $10. off coupon towards your breakfast.
Arrived at 9.30 pm at the Amsterdam Inn to find the restaurant closes at 9. We were really looking forward to again enjoy a meal here after a long leg of our Atlantic roadtrip. We received 20 dollars in vouchers from the hotel. I enjoyed Eggs Benny for the second time. Excelent food. Great service. Reasonable prices.
We enjoyed breakfast here twice. On our first stop we put our $10 vouchers from the hotel towards the basic (hot) breakfast which was a complete breakfast (beverages were an additional, nominal cost) . The service and food was excellent so on our return trip through town we tried other breakfast menu items for a small upcharge. The mushroom omelette was excellent, seemed like wild mushrooms, very flavorful. My husband had the farmers breakfast which held him over past lunchtime. The restaurant seemed fully staffed and everyone was very friendly and helpful, we didnt wait long.
