An amazing dining experience. Take the back country route to take in the scenery!

We had their pork hock which is delicious and huge. We had enough left over for dinner the next night

Our evening at Gasthof German Restaurant was nothing short of spectacular, made even more special by the stunning drive to get there. My wife and I, along with another couple, ventured out to this gem, and the journey through the breathtaking countryside was a treat in itself—rolling hills, lush greenery, and picturesque views that set the perfect mood for the night. Upon arriving, the warm, authentic German ambiance of Gasthof welcomed us, creating an ideal setting for a memorable dining experience.
The food was phenomenal. We indulged in the sausage platter, which was a true highlight—generously portioned, perfectly cooked, and bursting with rich, savory flavors that screamed traditional German craftsmanship. The potato leek soup was equally delightful, creamy, hearty, and packed with comforting warmth, making it the perfect start to our meal. Every bite was a reminder of why we love German cuisine. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring our group felt right at home throughout the evening.
Our friends couldn’t stop raving about the food and the cozy atmosphere, and we all agreed this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a while. Gasthof is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, high-quality German dishes in a setting that feels like a warm hug. The combination of the scenic countryside drive and this outstanding restaurant made for an unforgettable night. We’re already planning our next trip back to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend! Can get a little crowded and at one point very warm so had to ask to turn on AC

Ausgezeichnet! I've been to Germany over 30 times on business over the years. I always enjoyed my time in Germany, especially in the small towns and rural Gasthäuser, where I had many delicious meals. So believe me when I tell you that Gasthoff Old Bavaria near Sussex, NB is the real deal. The food was excellent, the portions were just right, and the service was great. I had the Sauerbraten and a slice of Black Forest Cake. Family owned and run - hey, my kind of place! We will be back. Schmeckt sehr gut!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant! It has the entire package, the location, the beautiful scenery, the atmosphere, their incredible staff and don't even get me started on how amazing the food is! Everything is fresh, never frozen, and always perfectly prepared. My husband and I go every weekend we can! Oh, and don't forget to order dessert, they are to die for! 🤤❤️🤤 Highly recommend. 10/10!!! 🥂🥗🍽🍺🍰⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

German Restaurant🇩🇪 in Canada🇨🇦

Step into a cozy corner of Europe right here in Canada at this charming German restaurant we recently visited. With its rustic wooden décor, warm lighting, and inviting atmosphere, it feels just like a traditional German home. The menu offers a delightful taste of Germany, from crispy schnitzels to sweet strudel. Each dish is prepared with care, bringing authentic flavors to your table. A fine selection of German beers adds to the experience, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing evening. It’s a little European escape that feels just like home!

Wow! Delicous homestyle German fair served in a wonderful setting. Impeccable service. Menu features local and fresh ingredients. They take such pride in their food and in ensuring guests feel well looked after. This is hands down a 5-star experience. My partner and I had the sausage Sampler for 2 as an appetizer. Our mains came with soup and salad. You could choose from a few soups and I decided to go with the squash soup and it was the very best squash soup I've ever had. For my main I had the cabbage rolls, which were served with creamy mashed potatoes and speitzl. We splurged on dessert since it was a special occasion.I got the apple strudel, the pastry was thin and delicate but crispy too. My partner had the peach cheese cake. It was airy and sweet but not heavy. I highly recommend this family owned and operated restaurant!

Well, we thought when we booked that we were going during their Oktoberfest celebration. We did, but they halt all that during the Thanksgiving weekend. It was Friday night!! They might have mentioned this to us when we booked! The server kept saying “don’t let me rush you” as she proceeded to rush us! They removed one of our soups before he was even finished. I ordered the roast pork knuckle (schweinhaxe) ahead of time and it was served with crackling, drowning in awful gravy and was actually overcooked. The place is so expensive now (wienerschnitzel is $42!) and there’s no value. There was nothing we ate that I can’t make better for 1/3 cost in my own kitchen. Not going back and I’d reconsider if you’re planning a dinner there.
