Delicious food, attention to detail, and exceptional service. Thank you to the Black Rabbit team - you made our family celebration even more memorable.
We hired Black Rabbit to cater an engagement party for our daughter. From the initial communication right through to the day of the party, we were very pleased with our experience. Luc answered all my questions and helped my vision come to life. Phil stayed on site during the party and he always made sure the food table was refreshed. He went above and beyond by helping with whatever he saw needed to be done. Both the charcuterie table and dessert table looked amazing and tasted delicious! We will definitely use Black Rabbit again and highly recommend them!
I usually don’t even write reviews but this was an awful experience at their pop up at Tire Shack brewery. The food you’re looking at was $75, including that piece of corn with a little bit of cream and paprika sprinkled over for $8 (!!!). That’s 1/3 of a single corn cob. I figured for $8 you’d at least get the whole cob, with some cool toppings. But no, if you want a whole piece of corn, that would be $24. Egregious.
The food itself was nothing special. If it was $35, I wouldn’t have any complaints. It wasn’t bad or anything, just fine and basic. For $75, and with the “fine dining” black rabbit is supposedly known for, I expected much better.
What really rubbed me the wrong way, too, was a *mandatory* 18% tip when I had to go order myself at a counter and was served the food on paper plates.
And to top it all off, on our way out, my wife saw one of the cooks lick his fingers and continue handling the food. Just gross.
Black Rabbit catered my wedding rehearsal dinner. They served up first class food with exceptional service. Highly endorse.
Firstly the rap music being played way too loudly should have been the first sign that things were not going to be the dining experience we were looking for. We sat down and asked for a glass of red and a beer. The girl seemed clueless as to what they had?? We booked for the tasting menu and couldn’t fault the presentation of the food. It was beautiful. But it stopped there. The lack seasoning was so disappointing !! So underwhelming. The pork belly had zero flavour. The waitress brought over an emulsion type spray that when sprayed should have turned the cream over the pork belly a fuchsia color….it didn’t work. So after a very underwhelming evening with Eminem in the background swearing we were charged what seemed to be a non negotiable 18% service charge! Good thing it’s their ‘Last Supper’ tasting menu as we won’t be back nor would we recommend it after be charged $439 for a tasting menu, 2 glasses of wine and 1 beer.
don’t even come here🙏

It’s hard to describe how poor an experience this was. We had eaten at Black Rabbit in January 2024 and had a great experience so we thought the NYE event would be a wonderful way to celebrate the new year, especially because they are closing soon. Out of ten courses, three were just good/okay (mushroom appetizer, short rib, halibut), two were inedible (salmon, pineapple), and the others were mediocre or below. The salmon was one of the worst items we have ever been served or eaten. On the whole, the food was incredibly disappointing, especially given the price ($443 approximately for two people).
We opted for the wine pairing which was also a mistake. For about $100 each, we were given one wine glass of about 3 ounces to pair with three different courses (carrot, salmon, and halibut), and another to pair with two others. While most of the wines were tasty, the cost was extreme given that the quantity was very limited for a ten course meal and the food was so bad that any attempt to pair with it effectively was lost.
The service was very friendly but quite slow for the first half of our meal (seemed more to do with understaffing for a very busy night then anything else). After complaining about the salmon course, the pace improved and we had three staff members working hard to keep things on track. We don’t blame the servers at all - it was clear they were doing their absolute best.
The meal took over 3.5 hours and was beyond disappointing. Everyone left hungry and discouraged. We paid almost $700 for two of us for an awkward and tasteless meal. I know this place is closing soon but it’s hard not to feel like this was a callous, last ditch cash grab. I had been encouraging friends to try Black Rabbit before it closes but I will be making sure to tell them not to risk it after such a terrible experience.

Horrible value for a $300+ dinner with wine parring. Dinner took over 3 and a half hours total. Judging the the 10 courses, 3 were good or above and the rest were subpar. 4 of the meals were missing flavour/seasoning and 2
We’re just not good. I look to be a generous patron at restaurant but this was just bad value for money.

Michelle and I had an opportunity to go to Black Rabbit last week for the Moncton Eats event. Although the conversation and company were amazing as per usual, I was not as impressed by the restaurant. When a restaurant has been nominated for the Air Canada list of new Canadian restaurants, there is a certain bar that needs to be achieved. I have been to many of these restaurants across Canada and they take dining to a new level. My first disappointment was the fact that the cocktail menu consisted of only two options, and one was not available. When I asked if they were able to create something whiskey-based, I was told no. I elected to take the suggestion of a melon drink, and although the flavour was refreshing, it was most definitely a summer drink. The wine was good as would be expected and as traditional in a lot of local higher-end restaurants. The next disappointment was that there was only one vegetarian dish on the menu, and it was a plate of $20 carrots served cold. Despite this, the server suggested that the kitchen could possibly make something off their upcoming vegan menu. Thankfully, there was a beet ravioli dish that served the purpose. My short rib dish was very good — fell off the bone, rich in flavour, and no gristle. Whereas my short rib was served warm, the ravioli were served less than warm. We elected to go for a pint instead of trying the dessert. There is a possibility that we chose a night where the organization wasn’t where it needed to be with a menu transition and a new vegan menu being prepared. However, if a restaurant is going to have a transitioning menu, that means there cannot be a “down” night. The cocktail menu also needs to be seasonal and have somewhat varied options for people who want something more than an old fashion.
