What a poop show this morning. Poor planning on whom ever arranged this CBC event. Staff was busting their butts but the people could not get out of their own way. A lot of people standing around looking around trying to be seen. What ever even took up more than 1/2 of the available tables. Apparently CBC does not understand car pooling or share ride.
I had the best chicken tricot ever for lunch last week! Keep up the good soup!

Have loved coming here for years but the service has gone downhill. Older woman working is quite rude and has been every time to anyone who orders. They took our order in wrong and when we politely said something she was very unfriendly. As well as she did not look away when my boyfriend was putting in his pin. Coming from someone who has been working in the service industry for years, it is quite appalling.
Great food! Friendly staff! And the coffee ??

Tasty coffee, super-friendly staff, and delicious cinnamon rolls. I'll try the lunch menu next. I definitely recommend Cafe Codiac. ??

Beautiful building, delicious food, the man that dealt with me was incredibly rude and it ruined the entire experience, very unwelcoming.

I really wanted to like this place. We live out of town, and have seen it in passing, and always wanted to go in but the timing was just never right. Today we had some spare time, and we were in town for an appointment, so we went.
The young female barista, friendly and helpful, the young man making food was great at well. The older woman taking orders, was not friendly, nor helpful nor great. She was quite abrupt and seemed annoyed. Why someone like that would be on the front lines taking orders is beyond me.
Either than the let down with that particular employees demeanor and lack of customer service, the food we had was good. The coffee was ok. We had just regular coffees/dark roast. The inside of the building and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Unfortunately we will not be running back to Cafe Codiac. I feel a business has to make a good first impression and that woman cashier did not fulfill that duty unfortunately.

Among my favourites are Aroma Nica, Peru, and the new Brazil Red Catuai which is simply superb; all amazing brown and dark brown freshly on-site roasted coffees. The espresso based drinks are extremely good.
We like the coffee and returned twice

While the customer service rep was all too-willing to provide the tall cup of ice as requested - it must be expressed that the old man in line who deserves the two star atmosphere rating was surprisingly comfortable with the meandering exchanges of 'feeling each other up' in line, following my salutation of "hey old fella, where's the party at?" in a pleasant, unassuming of demeanor or any disposition to the otherwise, and following my earnest regard of inquiry into whether touching each other too closely was a traditional form of greeting from his post WW1 days, estimating his longevity by the sweat of his brow - so to speak. Proceeding to play what's known as 'chicken or go' more colloquially for a few minutes in presumption of getting to the reason for why this pleasant enough old chap initiated such a game in public, among the visual of a crowded room - I got as far as touching the keys in his pocket before realizing I was the only one uncomfortable with this game of monkey see monkey do, only further exciting this stranger onto the armrest that my shoulder is not and never will be - arriving together in agreement at the conclusion that "mon corps c'est mon corps, ce n'est pas le tien" though it should also be noted that the tall cup of ice was exceptional - but I'm sure you already knew that. That's my .25 cents for the mooring.
