We visited Catch22 for the first time after a few of our friends recommended it and we read such great reviews online.

We started with raw oysters and mussels (pictured), which were all fresh and delicious. For mains we had the Lobster dinner, scallop alfredo (pictured) and a seafood pasta. Everyone cleaned their plates and we agreed that it was some of the best seafood we've ever had. For desserts we tried the crème brulee that came with a sugar cookie (mediocre, but not the star of the dish to begin with). The crème brulee itself was delicious.

I ordered a French 75 to start which was light and refreshing. I went to order a second drink but wanted a recommendation on something slightly sweeter. The bartender Justin came over, asked me a few questions and then asked if he could make me something off-menu with some ingredients he had. He brought back a delicious strawberry gin drink that was exactly what I was looking for.

Our waitress Flora was excellent. It was her first or second day on the job and she served us effortlessly. She was very personable and a pleasure to chat with.

Great food, great drinks. Will certainly be back!

Excellent service by Jacqueline. We were a table of 7 from Quebec. Food is absolutely excellent, service is amazing and friendly. 100% recommended!

Restaurant doors say they close at 10, I watched an excited table of 4 turned away by the chef 45 mins before close. As a chef who's wanted to do the same in the past, I understand, but it also displays a lack of care for the 4 excited ladies who were looking to eat.
If I come back, it will only be 45 mins before closing.

We arrived with no reservation and were able to be seated by our fantastic server.
Having come down for the Oysters, my dinner guest ordered them and was pleasantly surprised with how good they had been.
As the main course, we ordered seafood chowder and the steak. Highly recommend both the seafood chowder and steak. The mushroom sauce with the already tender steak had me blown away.
The drink menu was good. We had manhattans, mojitos, and margarita. Our drinks all looked and tasted delicious.

Overall, it would be a 5 star experience if I didn't see the chef cutoff food service early and turn guests away nearly an hour before close. However, it makes sense to me as it did take an hour to just get our appetizer.

Drove into the city to have dinner on a Friday around 8pm and was turned away because it was so slow they wanted to close early.

Love won't go back. This was a great seafood restaurant. Why let feoreithe seafood linguine which is no longer available on the menu. Ordered scallop Alfredo, very dry had to ask for extra saice. Saw chef reheating meal with a blow torch very disappointed in the new menu.

My experience at this seafood restaurant was somewhat mixed. The food itself was flavorful, with the mussels standing out as a highlight, but there were several areas that could use improvement.

Firstly, the presentation of the dishes could be enhanced; the plates were oversized for the portions served, which made the meals appear sparse and didn’t do the dishes justice. I ordered the chicken, and while it had good flavor, it was unfortunately overcooked, which impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Additionally, I was disappointed to find that there was no complementary bread offered, which would have been perfect for dipping in the mussel sauce and rounding out the dining experience.

As this was my first visit to Moncton, I selected this restaurant based on positive reviews and its convenient location near my hotel. While I did enjoy aspects of the meal, the inconsistencies ultimately left me with a mediocre impression. Overall, I’d rate the experience a 3/5.

This was their first day under new ownership. The food was absolutely delicious. The quality was definitely above average, comparable to very high end restaurants!
The service was very attentive, polite, yet humorous.
Check it out. You will be happy.
