Shout out to the Moncton Fish Market My father-in-law ordered a mackerel for their 65th Anniversary supper on July 23rd. The Moncton Fish Market not only delivered but gifted the mackerel in honour of their anniversary. So kind!
Rotting lobster left in the dumpster not sealed in bags.Workers can't be bothered to throw away waste properly. Hav scene lobster carcasses laying in the parking lot. The stench of rotting waste can be smelled constantly.
Last week, I purchased a lobster, bag of shrimp and 3lbs of PEI mussels. The lobster was very good, and the shrimp were spot on as well….. but the mussels were really in a low quality state. We asked the attendant how fresh the mussels were and she responded that they came in that morning. So when we prepared them at home, almost 30% of the mussels were nearly dead, and they didn’t smell fresh. After baking, we found another 20% failed to open. “The rest were edible but not great. Quite disappointing.
I bought crab there recently and it was not fresh and super stinky when I opened the bag once I got home. I had to throw it out to be safe. I’m never buying seafood there again.
I was lucky enough to live in Moncton for almost 20yrs and was a regular customer, I never had any issues with customer service or with anything I purchased. I moved back home to Halifax, home 10 yrs but still miss this place. I was told when the fresh fish arrived and was waiting at the door in the morning. LoL
Got some biiiiig live lobsters here.
I don't usually take the time to write a review about a place, but I was so beside myself with this lack of service that I just had to. I was visiting family in Moncton and decided to stop in this place for some lobster. No one was at the counter, nor did we see any staff in the store for the 8-10 minutes were there. There was trash on the ground in front of the lobster tanks like someone emptied out a can on the ground. The smell was just terrible too. Will not be visiting this dumpster again.
Visting family in moncton, we decided to have a good boil like we used too. Go into this place the smell was not of fish but of something foul and decomposing. Family member reassured me that was normal. We pick up a few things from the rude clerk. Go home cook. And for the next 3 days my entire family had food poison. Vacation ruined!
After a somewhat disappointing trip to the Moncton Fish Market for Valentine Day lobster, I posted a comment (regarding the fullness) on Facebook. The owner of the market responded personally to my complaint within an hour and `made it right"... now that's what you call good customer service! We'll be going back.
The owner doesn't like to take responsibility for anything. Acting like their parents were siblings.Just No common sense ?
