I'm extremely disappointed and offended by the treatment my friends and I received at Orien Restaurant. From the initial reservation to the actual dining experience, the staff displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and respect.

When I called to make a reservation, the agent interrupted me and told me they didn't have any job openings. I was taken aback, as I had clearly stated I was calling to make a reservation. Although he apologized and took my reservation, this set a negative tone for our visit.

On the evening of our visit, 15th February 2025, my 17 friends and I arrived elegantly dressed, only to be treated condescendingly by the wait staff. One of the staff had come to tell me we had just two hours to be done, and wouldbt want us making any noise or loitering around.They used derogatory language and made us feel uncomfortable. When we tried to take pictures, a waiter told us that the restaurant wasn't a "fashion studio," which we found highly offensive.

When we confronted the staff (A lady and A Man) about their behavior, instead of apologizing and trying to make amends, they asked us to leave. This was the final straw, and we left feeling disrespected and disappointed.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend Orien Restaurant to anyone. The staff's behavior was unacceptable, and their lack of professionalism and respect for customers is alarming.

I had the worst dining experience with Oriens. The customer service is Zero and ambience is zero. The people working there are racists. The detail of my experience is as follows- myself and my 17 friends booked two tables to accommodate 17people with Oriens. It was an evening to celebrate valentine and just have some fun while having a good meal. When we got there, the first thing the waiter said to us before taking our order was “are you paying individually or as a group? and please make sure you remain On your seat after the order so that it will be easy to take payment.” I find this statement very condescending, I have never been asked how I will pay in a restaurant before I make my order. The waiter was indirectly suggesting that we won’t be able to afford the food and talked to us as if we came to beg for food. Another thing that happened was that we were trying to take some pictures by the door as the whole place was crowded to accommodate us taking a picture as a group, one of the workers came to us to tell us that we can’t take picture at restaurant. My friend tried to ask why we can’t, the lady told us we can leave if we want to leave. This restaurant ruin our evening, we weren’t comfortable going forward with orders anymore as we don’t know if any substance could be put in our food with the way we were treated with so much disgust. We had to leave, it was an horrible experience, I do not wish it on any one. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ORIENS TO ANYONE.

I am a Black Canadian citizen, and I recently visited Oriens Modern Asian Cuisine with a group of 17 Black women for a ladies’ hangout. We had planned ahead, made a reservation, and were excited to try something new. However, our experience at the restaurant was deeply disappointing and, frankly, discriminatory.

Upon arrival, we quickly noticed that we were the only Black patrons in the establishment. Before we had even ordered our food, we began receiving messages indicating that we should not talk, as some white customers were allegedly complaining. This was shocking. Shortly after, a staff member approached one of us moments later, we were told that we could leave. We left immediately😔😭

This was a humiliating and unacceptable experience. In all my years, I have never faced such blatant mistreatment simply because of my race. The way we were treated was not only disrespectful but also a clear example of racial discrimination.

Every woman in our group is a successful entrepreneur who contributes significantly to our community. We are professionals, business owners, and leaders, and we deserve to be treated with dignity and respect—just like any other customer. No one should have to experience this kind of prejudice.

To my fellow Black community members, I urge you to reconsider patronizing this establishment. Racism should not be tolerated, and businesses that engage in discriminatory practices must be held accountable.

My experience yesterday with a few friends was one the worst I’ve ever had since moving to Canada. We were asked a lot questions on payment before we got the menu suggesting we may not be able to make payment after the meal. This left a sour taste in my mouth as I felt they thought a group of BLACK women would not be able to pay for their meal. We were told we couldn’t take pictures and we were also informed by one of the waiter’s that we just had 1hour 30 mins to have our meal. The staff made me super uncomfortable and I would NEVER recommend Oriens to anyone. We were asked to leave in a condescending and derogatory manner. This experience is by far my WORST experience from a restaurant and I would NOT be recommending them to any one neither would I be coming back.

Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience
I was really looking forward to dining at Oriens Asian Fusion Restuarant with my friends, excited to enjoy some delicious Asian cuisine in what we hoped would be a relaxed and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite.

From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. The staff were dismissive and rude, showing no interest in making us feel comfortable. What was meant to be a fun and enjoyable outing quickly turned into an uncomfortable experience. To make matters worse, we were told not to take pictures inside the restaurant, which felt unnecessarily restrictive and uninviting.

It was also hard to ignore the clear lack of diversity and inclusion. The atmosphere did not feel open or accepting, and the way we were treated made it clear that not all customers are valued the same way. Instead of being accommodating, the staff made us feel like an inconvenience. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, we were simply told that we could leave if we wanted to—so we did.

What should have been an enjoyable dining experience ended up ruining my appetite. A restaurant should be a place where everyone feels welcome, regardless of background. Customer service should be about hospitality, respect, and inclusion. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all those aspects. I hope they take steps to improve how they treat customers because no one should have to experience what we did.

I had a terrible experience with the staff on Feb 15. This was my first time stepping into this restaurant and will surely be my last as I will not recommend this place to anyone I know. A friend of mine made a reservation for a couple of my girls to have a Galentine dinner and from the moment we stepped in, we felt unwelcomed. The staff were very rude to us, we were told not to speak out loud or take pictures (while other customers were allowed to) and it took ages for the waiter to take our orders for drinks and water (they intentionally did this). When we asked if we could place our order for food, we were reminded that we had limited time to stay in the restaurant and asked us to leave if we wanted to (note that we still had about 2 hours until their closing time). I have never had such experience with all the restaurants I have visited, because they made us feel like we were there for a free meal…Also, the guy asked us not to stand up once he takes our order… he probably thought he was talking to kids and we found this really offensive. I lost my appetite and we had to walk out of the restaurant because I couldn’t imagine paying for such ridiculous service. Thankfully, we called another restaurant and got a better service that night. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ORIENS ASIAN FUSION.

I would not recommend Oreins to anyone due to their terrible customer service. I would give zero stars if possible.

A friend suggested the restaurant for its food but did not mention the condescending and rude attitude of the staff. We dine out regularly and have never encountered such unprofessionalism—not just in Moncton, but anywhere. It was so bad that we had to leave before even placing an order.

First, when my friend called to book a table for our group, the staff member who answered assumed she was looking for a job and abruptly responded, “There are no job openings here.” My friend had to clarify that she was calling to make a reservation.

When we arrived, only four of us had made it inside when the staff immediately told us we had just two hours to dine. Before we could even place an order, they were already asking how payments would be made, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming.

While waiting for our food, a few of us stepped outside to take photos. A staff member then spoke to us in the most condescending tone, saying, “This is a restaurant.” I calmly approached her and explained that there was no need for that tone with customers. She then claimed we were disturbing other guests, even though no one had complained, nor was there any visible sign of discomfort from other diners. When I asked how exactly we were causing a disturbance, she admitted that we weren’t loud—her issue was simply that we had left our seats to take photos while waiting.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. It felt like we were walking on eggshells. At that point, we asked if they wanted us to leave, and both the male and female staff immediately said yes in a sharp, dismissive tone.

Thankfully, we had other dining options in the area, and we quickly moved to a bigger, more accommodating restaurant that treated us with respect. Oreins completely ruined the start of our evening, but we did not let them ruin the rest of it.

I visited Orient restaurant yesterday with high expectations after enjoying their lovely meals with my family a few times. Unfortunately, my experience this time was far from pleasant. I brought along 17 friends, excited to share what I thought was a great dining spot, but the experience left us all deeply disappointed.

The two staff members who attended to us were incredibly ill-mannered, condescending, and unruly. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience to them. Their attitude was dismissive, and they made no effort to accommodate our large group, despite the restaurant pedigree.

The service was slow, and when we tried to ask questions or make requests, we were met with side talks and curt responses. It was clear they had no interest in ensuring we had a good experience. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was shocking, especially considering how much I had previously enjoyed dining here.

What should have been a fun and memorable outing with friends turned into a frustrating and unpleasant evening. I left feeling embarrassed for having recommended this place to my friends. The bitter taste in our mouths wasn’t from the food—it was from the overall experience.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues with their staff. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone.

all I can say is WOW!! Was trying to remember what a menu item was ordering a take out order and said "fck, cant remember the name of it" to which I was replied to "YOU DONT SAY FCK, YOU SAY FCK I SAY FCK AND FCK YOU FOR SAYING FCK" I said "Ahhhh WHAT?" He said "you order now or don't call back and no fck or you fck!"... I proceeded to order my order but kept getting cut off everytime i ordered another item...told me my total was $88...for a stir fry, bowl of soup and spring rolls I proceeded to say that don't sound right to get a response saying "it 750 we close 830 you be here at 820 to get food cuz then we close or you don't come!!!" then hung up..... if it wasn't for my wife wanting this and "only" this for supper after a 12 hour shift I would've just told them to keep it. arrived to pick up my order wasn't created by anyone but was told " door should be locked, we are closed not serve you good night!!" I said I placed a pick up order, young dude said oh then this you $88 I said that don't seem right, he had 2 bowls of pho soup, stir fry and spring rolls on my order, I said I only ordered the one bowl of pho beef satay he started hollering in the restaurant "you on phone with Me this what you ask for this what you get you pay you pay" I said I absolutely will not pay for something I didn't order. People still seated at the restaurant eating kept staring at us. I took my phone out and recorded all of this ignorant Asians comments. he told me " then I get what I get" like wtf is that suppose to mean?? I threw my order out scared he did something to it out of anger... I spend alot of money at this restaurant as my wife and myself think it's the best stir fry/pho soup place around. tonight changed all that. I will not order or spend another dollar at this rude/ignorant/unprofessional restaurant.... if you treat your paying customers that way to their face I can only imagine what you do to their food. I will be putting the video on NB groups as well.... do NOT recommend this place due to the RUDE, IGNORANT and straight out uncalled for behavior of a server to a paying customer. 2/10 ranking. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

Our 1st. time at this restaurant and we'll be back next time in Moncton. Great variety of Asian foods, very tasty and well presented. Kind service and nice atmosphere. Good value for the money. Parking available and plenty of room inside. We had the dak gang jeong with pasta alfredo and fusion BBQ, both very good.

Just had an awesome time at Oriens! The spicy cheese buldak with pasta was next-level—super cheesy, spicy, and just the right amount of kick. Everything tasted amazing, and the vibe was really cool. Service was on point too. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
