Amazing stay at the hotel and every dish at the restaurant was excellent. Contactless check-in/out was easy. Rooms were very clean and modern. Convenient restaurant just downstairs. The mussels were the best I’ve ever had. Flavourful spinach + artichoke dip and seafood risotto. Even the butter with bread was good. Very friendly staff at the restaurant. I highly recommend St James Gate.
Their seafood chowder was amazing!!
Service was good. Place was clean. But will not come back for the fish and chips (fish and fries on their menu). Had lunch their last Friday, got tired from chewing. Fish was tough and dry, dunno if was just overcooked or the fish wasn't fresh. The coleslaw was also off. We were midway eating when we noticed and dont want to bother the server. Note to self: it's a place to have drinks.
Came to have dinner, and enjoyed a very delicious early birthday dinner.
First course:
I had the chips (homemade and seasoned lightly) served with a very light dipping sauce- reminding me like ranch dressing.
2nd course:
I had the Truffle Chicken Gnocchi; well I have no idea where to begin. Delicious, savory, cheesy and if don't like garlic... well you're definitely not taking this dish. I paired this meal with a very an old school drink- Old Fashioned whiskey but with red wine. It was paired very well, smooth with a nice bitter taste of red wine (oaky) finish.
I didn't catch the servers name but excellent service, he wasn't overly hovering and pushy service like some restaurants I've been. This restaurant is located downtown Moncton on Church Street. They have a very beautiful patio in the summer, quiet area- away from the busy main Street.
Very professional and friendly service. Highly recommend for date night or just a place to get a nice cold drink with friends or family
Review is for dinnner service on their patio. Food was amazing. Service fantastic. Would gladly come back again
Ambience and service in the restaurant were both great, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The thai food options on the menu are kind of bizarre. Overly sweet, with crispy wonton bits that get soggy and don't really add to the taste or texture.

The food was amazing 👏🏻 very happy with everything ❤️
This is our favourite dining venue in Moncton. Totally recommend
We ate at the restaurant, it was very good and nice staff.

You must try the burger and truffle parm fries! Seriously one of the best meals ever!
We just went for a drink. Drinks were good but the place was far too noisy, and live music hadn’t even started. Hard to keep a conversation in these conditions. Server-bar tender was friendly. Overall not so much to our liking.
Hotel room was great - clean, quiet, and comfortable. The restaurant was wonderful. We had the blue pearl Happy Hour mussels from Grand-Digue, a new variety to us, and they were delicious. We also loved the beers on tap, the wings, Reuben sandwich, and caesar salad - the crispy chickpeas are an inspired addition! Loved it all.
Nice venue for event
Bad experience at St James tonight. Service was very slow and there were very few customers. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin which is usually excellent but it was extremely overcooked and almost too dry to swallow. When I advised the waitress, she simply said she would tell the cook. Very disappointing experience!!
