I wanted to take my friend out for their birthday, and we decided to go to Vitus Uptown. We didn’t have a reservation, but when we arrived, there were several empty tables. The staff told us they were waiting for a party of 31 to be seated upstairs and instead made us sit at the bar to eat.
First off, I’m not a drinker, and I don’t appreciate being seated next to alcohol being poured, especially when there were open tables. Sitting at the bar was uncomfortable, especially since I have neuropathy in my leg, and benches are not ideal for me. We expressed that we would have preferred a table, but they never accommodated us—even after we overheard that some reservations had been canceled. In the entire time we were there, only one of those tables ended up being filled.
What made this even more disappointing is that my friend doesn’t get out of the house often. This was supposed to be a special night, and instead, we felt dismissed. When I voiced my concerns, I was looked at as if I was the problem rather than being heard. If we had been seated properly, we would have likely ordered more food and stayed longer, but instead, we felt rushed out.
I’ve been to other Vito's locations, and the food has always been great. This time was no exception, and I do appreciate that they validated our parking and provided a complimentary dessert. However, service is just as important as the meal, and this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. When people go out and spend their money, they expect to be treated with respect. This night could have been handled so much better.

We were greeted so fast on a busy Saturday night as a walk in, without a reservation, knowing we would be lucky to get a table. (We called ahead and were advised there’s a fast bar turnover and could try our luck) We were lucky! The hostess was so kind and thanked us for waiting all of two minutes before she sat us on the restaurant side because something opened up.
Our server was extremely tentative, knowledgeable and friendly and the food was really good. She paid extra care and attention to our young daughter and checked in regularly.
I worked years in the industry as a server and was impressed at how smooth an extremely busy and chaotic environment seemed like nothing to them.
From our hostess, busser, and server, the service was top notch. When we left, EVERYONE, including the owner made sure to acknowledge us and say thank you which was so kind. Even IF the food wasn’t good the staff and atmosphere would have been worth it, but it was delicious.

Best outdoor concert ever! Great food, friends, and music!
The staff makes you feel comfortable the cleanliness standards are being upheld as compared to say barefoot SubWay... It makes me feel safe to eat as many places now don't give me the safe to eat feeling. The food is delicious, love most everything served. Have been a fan since 1972. Best Pizzas ever and the chicken Parmesan and the spaghetti is another fave! I eat here once a month. Take out 99% of the time.
