We were in St. John’s on Labor Day weekend in 2024. Let’s just say that this town takes Labor Day to the extreme and that nothing is open. Thank you for the church Street steakhouse for being open and provided us a wonderful meal. The only thing that knocked down one star was it was dark and difficult to see at our table 09/03/2024 03:05 PM server Madeline.

I had a ribeye steak with the special char crust and it was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. Service was good, wine selection was very good, and the atmosphere was very conducive to a pleasant relaxing meal.
The food was unexpectedly good... and expensive. When ordering my portion I was asked innocent questions about if I want some sour cream on the side, and to add char crust.I didn't expect that a $38 dish a a single pint of beer for a pub) will baloon to roughly $82 with the minimum (%18) tip option shown on the card machine.$82 for a single dish and a single pint in a pub is insane.
