If you need a pint and some Irish joy, this is the place to sit a spell. We loved the music and vibe. 100% recommend visiting.

The staff were friendly and the beer was cold, but the overall experience was a bit unusual. I was visiting St John with a small group and we were quiet looking for a pub to have a couple drinks. I heard a musician playing while we were walking past and was a bit surprised to hear live music on a weekday in the afternoon. I convinced my group to go in and we ordered a few and took a table in the otherwise empty room. After about 10 minutes, people suddenly started flooding into the pub and I could see a line forming outside the window, going down the street. Within a few minutes, the previously empty pub packed with people. The owner took the stage and introduced himself band then talked about the history of the pub. Apparently, unbeknownst to us, this seeming quite pub is an incredibly popular destination for guided tours of the area and the influx of patrons was the result of one such tour. During the hour or so that we sat, this process would repeat; the bar would empty out entirely, then it would fill and the owner would speak, then it would empty again, as each tour group passed through. In the end, it was a funny experience, but it's definitely not the slow and quiet pub that it looks like from the outside.

Cookie rocks. Great service, beer selection and atmosphere. Food is ordered at the bar from across the street. I had the Ruben sandwich and it was great. Great watering hole anytime. Thank you Cookie.

O'Leary's was amazing. We went on 2 different excursions from our cruise with this being one of the stops. Both times were so fun, great beer, friendly staff, and the owner was hilarious. If you ever make it to Saint John, NB, make sure you stop by O'Leary's for a great beer and a great time!

Came here for an excursion but would have liked to stay longer. Environment was fun and the singer was great! Never had Moosehead beer and it was really good. Not sure of they have food so I rated the food as beer.

If you’re staying at the Delta or strolling along the Saint John waterfront, O’Leary’s is just around the corner - the perfect spot to settle in.

It has a down-to-earth feel that makes it easy to call your local pub, even if you’re only passing through. It’s the kind of place where conversation flows, new friends are made, and you feel right at home.

A special shout-out to Cookie, whose great service and even better conversation made the visit stand out.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for a welcoming pub in the heart of the city.
