The staff here are wonderful I didn't eat so I can't make any remarks on the food

It was ok. Digby scallops were overcooked and not worth $24 for 3 of them. The Kraken bun was not a bun...unless someone squished the top...and was flavourless. The side of fries was season and had so much salt that I ate 3 of them and gave up. I was out of water that never got refilled. Jamie offered to bring me mashed potatoes after he found out but there was no point, my husband was finished eating his salmon, which he said was good, and who wants to eat mashed potatoes on their own. Wish that had been an option when I ordered. We skipped dessert, Hubby was full and I didnt see the point seeing as so far nothing had been worth the price.
Edit Nov 15, 2025. I reached out the day of the Response from the Owner and have heard nothing. So much for making it right.

Had a great time. Loved the Rabbit Poutine and Stout cake. Spinach dip was also a big hit.

Food was good for the rest of our party, but the fish and chips, I had heard so much about was disappointing. The fish was heavily battered and saturated with oil and the fries were cold. Sorry I didn't bring it up while I was there.

Small chowder and mussels were fantastic. Ambience is really nice and they have indoor speakers so you can hear the live music. It's quite expensive but I guess that makes sense since its along the harbour

We called in to Saint Joseph HN Ale House on the way to the hockey, we were in a bit of a rush. We mentioned to our server that we were going to the hockey and he and the kitchen made sure we got our food quickly. Even with a rush on the food they did amazing. Food was hot, fresh and very tasty. I wish I got out servers name to put in the review.

Had the pleasure of having lunch at the Saint John Ale House on our first trip to Saint John. We were served by the most lovely waitress, Vicky. She was so sweet and made us feel comfortable from the get-go. Really appreciated the beer samples. As many of the other reviews state, it was quite pricey. Had a delicious salad that was already $34 without any protein, and $16 for added salmon. Total of a $50 salad! Really good pub club. Beautiful view and location though, and nice and quiet without a crews ship in sight.
Great place, very friendly staff!

If you want mashed potatoes made 5 different ways by 5 different chefs, 7 days of the week. This is your place! Mediocre food made extremely inconsistently. Mostly due to there being 5 chefs who do everything differently.
Most of the food here is fine, but it's nothing special. Any dish bought here, minus the $70 steak, can be ordered anywhere else in town, and made better.
They order fresh fish, freeze it, then sell it as fresh. Lobster rolls are just a mix of frozen seafoods mixed with mayo. Pretty rough.

Good Food. On the pricey side , but that's expected for waterfront views. I'd like to add, never in my life have I been charged for a takeaway container until visiting here. Adding pics of the fish and chips, shaved Prime rib, buttermilk fried chicken and feta and Dates.

We were greeted by Bria who was more than happy to guide us through the myriad of different ales and ciders. Her and her colleagues were really kind in offering us various samples of the ales and ciders for us to try before we commit. There are over 30 of them to try from. We did not have food but the portions looked huge. Really recommend popping in, even if it’s just for a drink.

We went on a Sunday for supper. Meal was great and the service was exceptional. The waiter looked after us really well. So much so ,I sought out his manager to tell them what great service we were given. Well with giving this place a try. We will certainly go back
